Klendian flu seems much like the flu we know, making Rygel have difficulty breathing. Hynerian dermafollica is something Rygel comes down with in the fourth season and Hynerian airway seizure is set off by overwhelming emotions, causing the little guy to temporarily be unable to breath, as seen in "Mind the Baby," the first episode of the second season. Living death is a Sebacean ailment caused by long exposure to heat.

When Maldis uses his different voices while talking to John, John replies, "You're a regular Laurence Olivier." Maldis used different characters and disguises to fool John into trusting him.

Maldis gives John a glimpse of Tauvo Crais and of Bialar's past. Haloth is the name Maldis uses in his old wizard disguise. Bitaal is the Delvian Zhaan murdered. Salis is a Nebari that appears in "Durka Returns."

Zhaan first tries to hurt a two-headed bird known as a Trelkez, but Liko tells Zhaan she should try to hurt Rygel, who is up on Moya, in order to really test herself before facing Maldis. After hurting him, Zhaan says, "Part of me enjoyed that."

Rygel starts with valued friend, but decides that's a bit of a stretch and changes it to unwelcomed shipmate as he declares John dead and claims all of poor Crichton's possessions. John refers to himself as "Earth idiot" in "Exodus from Genesis."

Crais uses a spear first, trying to run John through as John tries to explain that he didn't mean to kill the enraged captain's brother. Later, he dislocated John's shoulder with a chain and punched and kicked him.

Maldis tells John several things about John he shouldn't know, such as his mother's maiden name and who he lost his virginity to. He also knew that John dislocated his shoulder when he trashed his motorcycle and had to snap it back into place. Eddie Marx was mentioned in "Exodus from Genesis" as a bully who beat up John in the seventh grade.

Maldis is dispersed, but Zhaan claims he will coalesce again one day. Tauvo, Bialar Crais's brother, was shown burning but it was only an illusion by Maldis, and Igg is only one of Maldis's personas. Lieutenant Teeg, Bialar's second in command, met her demise when her captain snapped her neck in order to protect the fact that High Command had ordered him to return and give up his search for Crichton.
