House knows that his former team member has been incarcerated. However, he doesn't know precisely why. He inquires, but doesn't receive an explanation that is quite satisfactory. She says simply that it was due to excessive prescribing. Naturally, House is not satisfied with the answer.

In a tearful moment, Thirteen tells House that she put her brother out of his misery by executing euthanasia. It's a poignant moment. Her words strike House very deeply, but he doesn't acknowledge the pain.

Fortunately for House, Harold has been making waves with the sheriff's daughter. So, leniency is applied and House is only given a warning.
