Phoebe's Funeral Trivia Quiz

There were quite a number of returns for Phoebe's funeral but Donna Beck Tyler, last played by Candice Early, was not one of them. The characters who did return to celebrate Phoebe's life were Chuck Tyler, Benny Sago, Linc Tyler, Kelly Tyler, and Tom Cudahy. Benny did a lot of talking at the funeral and noted how Phoebe wanted her memorial to be more a celebration rather than full of tears and sorrow.

The characters read various letters which Phoebe had written to them and Linc kicked it off with his reading the letter Phoebe sent to him. In the middle of the letter, Linc stopped and we saw a flashback of an earlier clip involving Phoebe. In the flashback, the first character we saw was Eddie Dorrance and he called up Phoebe to get her congratulations on his marrying Kelly Cole (later to be Kelly Tyler).

Back in 2001, the actor who played Langley Wallingford, Phoebe's husband, from 1979 to 2001, Louis Edmonds, died and the show did not address his passing for many years. When Ruth Warrick passed away of pneumonia in early 2005, the "AMC" writers decided to finally tie in Langley's death on the episode where the characters celebrated Phoebe's life. Whereas there were multiple mentions of Langley in the episode, it was in one of them where we learned he also had passed on and was in Heaven with Phoebe.

Near the end of the episode, it was getting to the moment for everyone to say their final goodbyes to Phoebe and Brooke started to tear up a little. Benny told her to not shed any tears or else, to stop her from tearing up, he would plant another kiss on her. Benny and Brooke then shared a hug.

Benny and Brooke got done hugging so Adam went up to her and said he was with her all the way. They then shared a hug and Benny started to give his thoughts on Adam, suggesting Phoebe likely did not bet on Adam and Brooke reconnecting. Benny laughingly said he could hear "the duchess" spinning over the thought of an Adam and Brooke reunion.

Many of the flashbacks from the episode went back to the 1970s and one of them involved a sparring match between Phoebe and Myrtle. In this particular flashback, they argued over Linc and Phoebe chided Myrtle for what she saw as Myrtle taking advantage of Linc since he was gullible. Myrtle shot back and said, unlike Phoebe, she would never push anything on Linc.

One of the show's most exciting and earlier rivalries was between Phoebe and Mona and it was over Charles Tyler's affections. Charles had planned to divorce Phoebe so, in one flashback from the episode, Phoebe was seen with Mona and telling her she would give her one chance to get Charles to change his mind. Mona responded she did not have enough time to do this as their divorce proceedings would be the very next day.

Jamie and Babe spent some time in this episode and it was in their first scene where he mentioned how his mom, Brooke, was in a wreck. Jamie stated this was first due to Edmund's death and now with Phoebe gone. Babe told him that, since Phoebe was like a grandmother to him, it was perfectly okay for him to be sad as well. Jamie told her Adam circled Brooke to try and comfort her over Phoebe's death and that they had to stop him.

Jack, Lily and Reggie all attended the funeral and Jack turned his attention to Lily to ask about Sam. Sam had just recently run away from him over friction with his adoptive mother, Maria, and he asked Lily if she knew where he was since Maria was scared over his disappearance. Lily replied that she hid Sam in a secretive place and promised she would not tell anyone where he was.

Erica went to the funeral and saw Brooke there and chatted with her for a little bit. She stated how Phoebe's death was such a loss for everyone and that Phoebe had a lot of energy. Brooke responded how amazing Phoebe was but there were some situations where she could be utterly terrifying. Erica commented how it was a pity that Phoebe and Mona spent so much energy fighting over a man, as in Dr. Charles Tyler. Rather than respond to this, Brooke asked Erica if Jack would be coming and Erica said he would be there.
