The episode began with the gang still inside the abandoned desert building. No one remembered that Ben had just changed into Glory, and then run off with Dawn. When Spike broached the subject of running into Ben, he had to explain over and over that Ben was Glory.

We saw him take off his welder's mask when Glory approached with Dawn in tow. He knelt down to bow to Glory as she passed him, while others chanted "the key". Bob Morrisey played Dawn's first crazy guy. He's also guest starred on "Angel", "Gilmore Girls", and "Invasion".

Then, she wiped off Dawn's forehead. He was able to come back later and finish this task. Matthew Lang played the high priest of the minions. He was also an extra in the episode "Fool For Love".

Buffy walked Willow through little Buffy's meeting Dawn, then to Buffy's book return at the Magic Box, on to the desert scene from "Intervention" where Buffy finds out that death is her gift, down the Summers' hallway into Joyce's room, and finally into Dawn's room to smother her with a pillow.

Then, the duo ended back up inside little Buffy's house.

Spike knew he was lying, and hiding something they may need. They fought Doc and were able to retrieve it from the fireplace before it burned up. Xander sworded Doc, but it didn't kill him.

The two versions of Buffy told Willow that small event was the time she quit. She knew at that moment she couldn't defeat Glory and that Dawn would die. That was the moment she killed her sister. In point, that moment of wanting it all to end had caused her to feel enormous guilt. Willow told Buffy that guilt was important, but they did not have time for it now.

She left Buffy, and told her she hoped Buffy would come back with her.

She walked in and Xander quietly questioned, "Did you know that Ben is Glory?"
Buffy: "So I'm told."
Giles then revealed that with their new information, they now knew the only way to stop the ritual was to kill Dawn. Ever the slayer, Buffy made it clear in the finale that was not an option.
