"Top Gear" was first shown on the BBC 2 channel in 1977. The first presenters were Noel Edmonds and William Woollard. Other members of the team included Sue Barker, a well known tennis player and Tony Mason a rally co-driver.

The band the Allman Brothers performed "Jessica". The song was written by Dickey Betts, and is featured on their album "Brothers and Sisters", released in 1973.
