Yuzuriha is unable to answer and because of her confusion, Inuki dies though he is reborn out of her heart later on. Hokuto, Subaru and Seiichiro all share a close bond as childhood comrades. Seiichiro later kills Hokuto under the cherry tree. Before she dies, she tells Kamui she wants to believe in him.

It is also upon her death that the second Divine Sword is unsealed and must therefore already be wielded by Kamui in preparation for the Final Battle.

Fuma, the Dragon of Earth Kamui, is foreseen by Kanoe, Hinoto and Kakyou to win and he does, for there is only one unchanging future. However, what the dreamseers did not see is that even if Fuma would win, it is the wishes of the Dragons of Heaven which would come to fruition and humanity would still be saved because of the true Kamui's wish and ultimate sacrifice.
