Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What item, which Kokichi stole and ran off with, was Monokuma's motive for Chapter 4?

Answer: Card key

In addition to the items that unlock Tsumugi, Shuichi and Keebo's labs, Monokuma gives the students a card key and tells them they have to figure out what it unlocks. As the students are discussing where to look and if they even should bother, Kokichi steals it and runs off. He disappears for most of the beginning portion of the chapter.
2. Which of the following items cannot be found in Shuichi's lab?

Answer: Flashback light

Shuichi, the Ultimate Detective, has a lab that looks similar to Sherlock Holmes' flat on Baker Street. There is a roaring fireplace in the center. On one side of the fireplace is a tall bookcase with 52 volumes of murders. Shuichi doesn't recognize the allegedly famous case in the volume he opened. These volumes would serve as a clue in the game's final chapter.

On the other side of the fireplace is a shelf of poisons and antidotes, which not only serves as a red herring in this chapter but also as an important clue in the following chapter.
3. In order to prevent any more murders, Miu suggests everyone uploads themselves into a virtual world. Did Miu remove all dangerous weapons from the virtual world?

Answer: No

Miu did not create either the supercomputer or its programming but she modified the latter. She told the others she removed anything that could be used as a weapon from the program so they would be safe there. However, after Miu was murdered, the students found a hammer that was apparently on her body at the time of death which meant she had not removed every dangerous weapon from the program.
4. Which of the following is NOT something Miu lied about regarding the virtual world?

Answer: Everyone's avatar had equal stength

When everyone first arrives at the manor in the virtual world, Miu explains how the world works. One of the only pieces of true information she gives them is that everyone in this world has the same physical strength since they are all just avatars. This upsets Gonta because his biggest advantage is his physical strength.

However, Miu tells them a number of lies as well. She tells them the only way out of the virtual world is to say your full name into the telephone in the manor's salon. However later on, this is proven to be a lie when a cell phone is found on Miu's body and it is able to log someone out.

Miu also claimed the virtual world is a small area surrounded by a physical wall. In the center where the river divide the world in half, she claims is a loading point. However, this is another lie. There is actually only one wall and it does not surround the world. The wall is between the chapel and the manor, the only two buildings in the computer program. The two buildings are actually right next to each other with the chapel on the left, then the wall and the manor on the other side of the wall. Miu redrew the maps to make it look the manor was on the left of the world with the chapel all the way on the other side of it.

Finally, Miu suggests the remaining nine of them split up and search the virtual world for a clue to the outside world and a possible escape route. However, she knew no such thing existed. She just wanted everyone to split up so she could enact her own plans.
5. Before the murder occurred, which person was logged out of the virtual world?

Answer: Kaito

When the group was split up, Kaito was assigned to search the roof of the manor. However, he was suddenly logged out of the program and woke up in the real world. He assumed there was some kind of malfunction so he just went back to his dorm room and didn't bother to log back into the program.

It becomes apparent later on in the chapter that Miu was murdered on the rooftop and Kaito was most likely logged out to prevent the killer from being seen.
6. What was Miu strangled with?

Answer: Toilet Paper

Miu's immobile avatar is found crashed into the chapel wall. When everyone logs out, they find Miu's dead body in the real world. At first, he cause of death is unknown until Shuichi notices it seems like she was strangled. Back in the virtual world, there is a dearth of objects one can strangle someone with. Miu's killer couldn't have used their bare hands because everyone was equal in strength.

Keebo finds a discarded roll of toilet paper on the side of the manor and this would do the job. Because objects in the virtual world cannot break, the roll of toilet paper would not rip when used to strangle someone.
7. Who did Miu plan to kill before she was murdered?

Answer: Kokichi

Miu was planning to a murder in the virtual world and settled on Kokichi as her target. She programmed the computer so that Kokichi would freeze whenever he made contact with Miu. This would allow her to kill him with ease. In addition, Miu programmed herself so she was coded as an object, not an avatar. Objects in the virtual world can pass through the wall.

When the group split up, Miu was apparently trapped on the chapel side of the river with a few others. In reality, she walked through the wall, logged Kaito out of the virtual world and went into the mansion.

She told Kokichi to meet her on the rooftop. However, it was Miu who wound up dead and her body somehow wound up back on the chapel side.
8. During the class trial, what announcement does Monophanie make?

Answer: She's pregnant

As the only two Monokubs remaining and no longer under the influence of Monodam, Monophanie and Monotaro began an incestuous relationship (possibly inspired by Korekiyo's in the previous chapter). The two robotic bears fall in love and Monophanie announces at the trial that she is pregnant. However, as seen in this chapter's execution, it is not a bear she is carrying.
9. Why couldn't Gonta remember killing Miu?

Answer: He mixed up the login cords to the super computer

Kokichi, aware of Miu's plan to kill him, was powerless to stop her. Kokichi could not kill Miu because he would have frozen in place when he made contact with her. He manipulated Gonta into killing her for him, which Gonta agreed to.

However upon arrival back in the real world, Gonta had no memory of this. Before entering the program, Gonta accidentally switched the cords that connected his brain to the computer. A glitch occurred that wiped out all of Gonta's memories from the virtual world. This messed up Kokichi's plan because he became the prime suspect and Kokichi expected Gonta to confess.
10. Why did Gonta agree to kill Miu?

Answer: He learned the secret of the outside world

Kokichi claimed the key card motive that he stole at the beginning of the chapter unlocked a secret to the outside world. He showed this secret to Gonta who agreed to kill Miu as a result. In a recorded message, Gonta explains that what he saw was so terrifying, he refused to talk about. He decided the gentlemanly thing to do was to kill Miu and then survive the class trial. All of his friends would have been executed, but Gonta decided that was the humane thing to do. He would have then lived alone in the school.

However, Gonta is exposed as the blackened during the trial. He receives the Wild West Insecticide execution where he is strapped to a pole. A pregnant Monophanie is tied to a railroad track when she suddenly gives birth to a giant wasp. The wasp rips Monophanie in half, killing her. It then fires poison stings at Gonta. Monokuma runs out with a flamethrower and uses it on Gonta, killing him as well. Finally, Monotaro is also caught in the crossfire and dies. Following this, there are no more Monokubs living.
