"Lunar Legend" is a remake of the classic role-playing game "Lunar: Silver Star Story". It was developed for the Game Boy Advance and released in 2002 by Marvelous Entertainment and Ubisoft.

The game follows the story of a young hero named Alex, who dreams of becoming a Dragonmaster like his idol Dyne. Together with his friends, he embarks on an adventure to protect the world of Lunar from an ancient evil.

Alex's closest companion is Nall. Nall provides guidance, good humour and even helps in battle by carrying items and automatically resurrecting downed characters. Although he looks like a small winged cat, it's later revealed that Nall is actually a young dragon, a fact that becomes significant as the story unfolds.

Nall's origins are a bit mysterious; he was brought to live with Alex's family when he was very young and has been at Alex's side ever since. Despite his cute appearance, he's known for his sharp wit and insatiable appetite for fish, which becomes a running gag throughout the game.

Although players don't control Nall directly, he plays an important supporting role, carrying items and automatically resurrecting characters if they are knocked out in combat.

Answer: Rumack

Nash Rumack is a skilled magician from the Magic Guild in Vane, known for his overconfidence and quick wit. He specialises in casting powerful lightning spells, but his arrogance often gets him into trouble.

Nash is fiercely protective of Mia, the leader of the Magic Guild, with whom he is secretly in love. However, his shy nature prevents him from openly admitting his feelings. As the game progresses, Nash's character evolves, and he gradually learns to see his companions as equals, even grudgingly acknowledging Alex's strength - but only when Alex isn't around to hear it.

At one point, Nash betrays the group under pressure, siding with the antagonist Ghaleon and piloting a mech built by Taben. During a confrontation with the group, Mia helps him to snap out of it, prompting Nash to switch sides again and turn against his temporary allies.

In gameplay, players can control Nash in combat, using his thunder-based spells to attack individual enemies, groups or entire enemy parties. While his magic is powerful, especially against enemies vulnerable to lightning, his physical attacks are weak and he isn't particularly durable. However, Nash's speed allows him to act quickly, either dealing damage or supporting his allies at crucial moments.

Laike Bogard is one of the most mysterious characters in the game, and as the story unfolds, players discover that Laike is actually the legendary Dragonmaster Dyne.

Born in the village of Burg, Dyne set out as a young man to become a Dragonmaster - a protector chosen by the goddess Althena. Early on in his journey, he formed a close bond with the mage Ghaleon, and together they later became members of the Four Heroes, along with the warrior Mel de Alkirk and the sorceress Lemia Ausa. Dyne earned his place as Dragonmaster by fighting in the Heresy War to bring peace to Lunar. But 15 years before the events of "Lunar Legend", Dyne made a great sacrifice: he gave up his powers to help Althena live as a human, a decision that strained his friendship with Ghaleon. Left for dead by the world, Dyne survived and took on a new identity, Laike Bogard, as a wandering swordsman.

As Alex and his friends begin their own adventure, Laike becomes a mentor to Alex, offering guidance and encouragement while hiding his true past. Laike's wisdom and courage inspire Alex, who dreams of following in Dyne's footsteps as a Dragonmaster.

Answer: Lemia Ausa

Lemia Ausa is the powerful leader of Vane's Magic Guild and the mother of Mia Ausa. In her youth, she was called upon during a crisis to rescue her mother, Niea Ausa, and other leaders stranded in a damaged airship. Though the responsibility was overwhelming, she found a way to save them - a moment that helped shape her as a leader.

Lemia later joined Dyne and Ghaleon on legendary adventures, eventually becoming one of the "Four Heroes" who helped end the Heresy War. After the group disbanded, Lemia returned to Vane to lead the Magic Guild. Years later, however, Ghaleon captured her and replaced her with an impostor, Xenobia, who used magic to erase Lemia's memories and imprison those who opposed her rule.

Answer: Hell Mel

Master Mel de Alkirk, known as "Hell Mel", is a central character in "Lunar Legend" and serves as the Governor of Meribia. Once a notorious pirate, Mel is known for his incredible axe skills and fiery temper. He became one of the Four Heroes after a legendary battle with Dragonmaster Dyne, where they fought for several days.

When the evil witch Xenobia attacked Meribia, Mel bravely fought to defend his city. In a heroic act, he sacrificed himself to protect his daughter Jessica and was turned to stone as a result. Although Jessica desperately tried to bring him back, she learned that defeating Xenobia was the key to reversing the curse. After Jessica succeeded, Mel returned to his normal self and resumed his role as governor.

There's some debate about Mel's founding role in Meribia. The English version of "Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete" says that he founded the city, while the Japanese version suggests that he only governs it. In "Lunar: Silver Star Harmony", characters mention that he became mayor after leaving his pirate days, and that Meribia flourished under his leadership.

Answer: Quark

Quark, also known as the White Dragon, is one of the Four Dragons in "Lunar Legend". When Alex, Ramus and Luna sneak into his cave near Burg in the hope of finding a valuable dragon diamond, they meet Quark himself. Quark tests Alex with the White Dragon's Trial, and when Alex passes, Quark rewards her with a Dragon Diamond. This encounter inspires Alex to pursue his dream of becoming a dragonmaster.

Later, Alex and Luna unknowingly lead Ghaleon to Quark. Surprised to see his old friend, Quark realises Ghaleon's intentions when Ghaleon reveals his anger towards the Four Dragons and Althena, blaming them for Dyne's fate. In a tragic twist, Ghaleon attacks Quark, leaving the White Dragon mortally wounded. In his dying words, Quark urges Alex to fulfil his destiny as Dragonmaster and stop Ghaleon. In later versions of the story, Ghaleon imprisons Quark and uses his power to power the destructive Grindery.

Answer: Zet

Zet, the harbourmaster of Saith, may seem tough and straightforward, but he fits the image of a hardworking dockworker. His job is essential for anyone wishing to travel by sea, and although he initially seems reluctant to help Alex and his friends, he eventually arranges their passage.

Zet's character is a good example of the everyday figures that make up the world of "Lunar Legend", providing a slice of life in Saith's busy port. He's practical and down-to-earth, embodying the spirit of Saith's maritime culture and making it clear that he values rules and order in his port.

Answer: Gazelle

Ghaleon's assistant on Lann Island is Gazelle. Gazelle plays a short but important role, helping Ghaleon with his investigation into the fake Dragonmaster by giving Alex and the group advice. He's a key player in uncovering the imposter's lies and helping Alex move forward.

He doesn't have a big role, but he helps Ghaleon uncover the false Dragonmaster's schemes. He also shows us the network of support and authority that Ghaleon has at his disposal during the group's journey.

Answer: Xenobia

Xenobia is the powerful leader of the Vile Tribe, exiled to the Frontier by Althena for her hatred of humans. She served as the chief enforcer for the Magic Emperor Ghaleon, whom she secretly loved, and worked with her two subordinates, Phacia and Royce. Xenobia's ability to create complex illusions and her powerful magic made her a formidable enemy. She even went so far as to impersonate Lemia Ausa, the Guildmistress of Vane, in order to weaken the Magic Guild and capture those who opposed Ghaleon.

Throughout Alex's journey, Xenobia tried to hinder him and his friends, even creating illusions of their worst fears to break their spirit. Her main attacks targeted Alex's entire party, using dangerous magic that could turn characters to stone. In their final encounter, she attempted to manipulate Alex one last time, but was finally defeated in Althena's Fortress.

Answer: Thalia

Alex's mother, most commonly known as Saria in various versions of "Lunar: The Silver Star", is a kind-hearted and supportive figure in his life. However, in the "Lunar Legend" version, she is named Thalia. Regardless of her name, she plays a consistent role in encouraging Alex to pursue his dreams of becoming a Dragon Master.

Her gentle nature and unwavering belief in her son's potential give Alex the courage to embark on his journey, knowing that he has her unwavering support.
