Richard was in a very painful coma after being in a car accident. He awoke from the coma and asked Reva to help him die. It was a very hard decision for her to make, but she did pull the plug on Richard's life support.

Annie Dutton and Reva had been long standing enemies. Annie had once been married to Josh, when the love of his life, Reva, came back to town and stole him away from her. Annie once accused Reva of pushing her down the stairs and killing her unborn child, when the baby had been dead for awhile. Annie was Reva and Josh's first suspect.
