Today LA is one of the largest and most important cities in the world. The nickname truckers gave the city is very easy to figure out. 17. In CB terminology, what city was called "Ghost Town"?

From Quiz CB Radio Terminology: Cities Part 2

This term developed from two sources. The first is Casper the Friendly Ghost, a somewhat famous cartoon ghost created in the early 1940's and first appearing as an animated short feature in 1945. The second part of the term is derived from the actual city of Casper, Wyoming. Casper, the town, was founded in the mid 1800s as a fort along The Oregon Trail. The present day city was incorporated in 1864 and became capital of the Idaho territory in 1865. The city today gets great recognition for its quality of life, ranking #3 for "Businesses and Careers" by "Forbes Magazine" and #8 as "Best Place to Live" by "Money Magazine". Idaho traditionally was known as the potato capital of the US, so of course truckers are going to label the capital/largest city as something to do with potatoes.

St. Louis was actually home to a thriving Indian culture, which lasted from 300 AD to 1500 AD called by scientists the Mississippian culture. Truckers still look at the city the same as travelers did two hundred years ago; it separates the east from the west.

Another one that is somewhat easy, with the Pacific Ocean to the west, San Francisco Bay to the east, and the Golden Gate to the north. From Quiz CB Radio Terminology: Cities Part 3

Answer: New Orleans

Ground was broken for The Louisiana Superdome in 1971 and the doors opened in 1975. It is located in New Orleans and is the largest fixed dome structure in the world, although no longer the largest dome overall. The dome came into world wide prominence in 2005 by housing thousands of evacuees seeking shelter from Hurricane Katrina. It has been home to several sporting events including the Superbowl in 1978, 1981, 1986, 1990, 1997, and 2002 and the Final Four in 1982, 1987, 1993, and 2003. Truckers have many names for New Orleans but this is the one most used, as historically whenever anyone thought of a superdome they thought of New Orleans.

30. In CB terminology, what city was called "Guitar Town"?

From Quiz CB Radio Terminology: Cities Part 2

Answer: Nashville

Nashville, the capital of Tennessee, is considered by many to be the home of country music. The city itself was founded by James Robertson in 1779 and originally called Fort Nasborough. Originally the city was an important shipping center, both by water on the Cumberland River and later by numerous railways. Nashville is home to The Grand Ole Opry, which has been broadcasting a weekly radio program since October 5, 1925. By the 1940s the popularity of country music insured that Nashville was the home of country music. Truckers, of course, love to stop here, country music, honkytonks and plenty of fun to be had.
