Prince Caspian Trivia Questions

1. In the beginning of the movie, a geeky boy starts talking to Susan. When he asks her what her name is, what name does she give him?

From Quiz
Prince Caspian (2008)

Answer: Phyllis

In the beginning of the movie, the geeky boy walks right up to the newspaper stand where Susan is reading a magazine and asks, "What's your name?". she replies, "Phyllis". Right then, Lucy comes running up to Susan, yelling her real name. Lucy runs up to Susan because their brother Peter gets himself in a fight again at the bus station.

2. What does Nikkabrik appeal to, when he entices Caspian to call on the dark magic for help in his fight?

From Quiz "For Aslan!" Reviewing "Prince Caspian" (Part II)

Answer: Caspian's desire for Miraz's blood

The thing that cinches it, for the bird-witch and evil creature that Nikkabrik called forth, is Caspian's hesitant question: "And you can... guarantee Miraz's death?" The bird-witch bows. "And more." Then she says, "Let the circle be drawn!" and Caspian is drawn to where he never wanted to go. His weakness in the moment of temptation almost causes a horrific catastrophe.

3. The movie starts off with the evil King Miraz's wife giving birth to a son. What do the General and his troops then go and do to Caspian?

From Quiz "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" Part I

Answer: Shoot Caspian while he is asleep

They do not succeed in killing Caspian as Dr. Cornelius, Caspian's tutor, wakes Caspian up and hurries him away before the General arrives. Dr. Cornelius takes Caspian to his horse Destrier and gives Caspian Queen Susan's horn.

4. After a brawl in the train station near the beginning of the movie, Peter tells Susan, Edmund and Lucy that he's tired of being treated like a kid. "Uh, we are kids?" Edmund answers. What is Peter's response?

From Quiz "For Aslan!" Reviewing "Prince Caspian" (Part I)

Answer: "But I wasn't always."

Peter is referring to a year ago, when he and his siblings ruled as Narnian Kings and Queens. This statement is followed by a weary question to the other three; "It's been a year. How long does he [referring to Aslan] expect us to wait?" Peter is longing to go back to Narnia. Susan is just getting settled down to life in England, and later in the movie almost seems to resent going back to Narnia. It's not really clear what Edmund and Lucy think, but they're all very excited when they are pulled back into Narnia.

5. At the beginning of the movie, Prince Caspian is roused from his bed by his professor, Doctor Cornelius, and told to flee. What event forces him to run for his life?

From Quiz The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Answer: His uncle's wife has given birth to a boy.

Prince Caspian is the rightful heir to the throne, which is empty due to the death of Caspian's father. His uncle, Miraz, leads the council that is running the country, while waiting for Prince Caspian to take the throne, but really wants to be king himself. Once his son is born and he has an heir, he orders his soldiers to kill the Prince. Prince Caspian and Doctor Cornelius flee through a secret passageway in the wardrobe (a reference to the first "Narnia" movie), pausing long enough to watch the soldiers unleash a volley of arrows into the bed where they think he is sleeping.

6. Who is the actor who plays Prince Caspian?

From Quiz Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Answer: Ben Barnes

Ben Barnes, besides taking the role of Prince Caspian, has also acted in the movie 'Stardust', which came out in 2007. He was born on August 20, 1981. Skandar Keynes played Edmund Pevensie. William Moseley acted as Peter Pevensie. Daniel Radcliffe is Harry Potter, and has nothing to do with this movie.

7. What is the name of Prince Caspian's horse?

From Quiz Prince Caspian (2008)

Answer: Destrier

Prince Caspian mentions his horse's name when he's helping Susan and Lucy get ready to go off into the woods to find Aslan. They are looking for Aslan because, although many of the Narnians don't believe Lucy saw him throughout the movie, they are willing to try anything to win the battle against the Telamarines. Susan goes with Lucy. Caspian lends them his horse, Destrier, knowing that with him they will be in good hands (or hooves).

8. Who shoves Caspian out of the reach of the ice-bound White Witch?

From Quiz "For Aslan!" Reviewing "Prince Caspian" (Part II)

Answer: Peter

Peter runs into the room, throws Caspian aside, and yells at the White Witch, "Get away from him!" However, she capitalizes on his weaknesses as well and nearly draws him in. "You know you can't do this alone... come on. Just one drop [of Adam's blood]." Peter lowers his sword slowly, but before he has a chance to slit his hand, the White Witch is stabbed in the back. She fades away and the ice wall crumbles to reveal Edmund, with his sword stuck in the ice, face contorted from the effort. "I know," he says to Peter, "You had it sorted." (He's referring to the earlier fight in the subway station, when Edmund had jumped in the fray only to be rebuked by Peter later.)

9. The Pevensie children are waiting for the train back to school. Which two children get into a fight while waiting for the train?

From Quiz "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" Part I

Answer: Edmund and Peter

Peter is the eldest of the Pevensie children and is the main character after Prince Caspian who helps in the battles. Edmund is the second youngest and is also a great help in battles. Peter starts the fight when some boys bump Peter and ask him to say sorry. Edmund then runs in to help. After the fight, Peter forgets to say thank you to Edmund. It is then that the magic of Narnia starts to happen.

10. After the Pevensies save the dwarf Trumpkin from the hands of the Telmarines, what contest do they challenge him to in order to convince him that they are the "kings and queens of old"?

From Quiz "For Aslan!" Reviewing "Prince Caspian" (Part I)

Answer: A swordsmanship contest with Edmund

When Peter hands Trumpkin his sword, the dwarf nearly drops it in the sand due to its weight. He soon proves himself an expert with the sword, though, and the contest looks fairly matched until Edmund swings Trumpkin's sword out of his grasp and holds his own sword to the dwarf's throat.

11. How are the Pevensie children summoned to Narnia?

From Quiz The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Answer: with Susan's old horn

As Price Caspian flees the castle, Doctor Cornelius gives him Susan's old horn, which he says has taken him a long time to find. He instructs Caspian to only blow the horn when he is in dire trouble, as it will guarantee that help will arrive. This is the horn that Father Christmas gave to Susan in "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", with the same instructions. When he is fleeing from the soldiers, Caspian falls and comes face to face with some Narnians, whom the Telmarines had believed to be extinct. He frantically blows the horn which causes the Pevensies to be summoned to Narnia. His blowing of the horn also gives hope to the Narnians, who allow the Prince to live while they await the return of the true kings and queens.

12. Who is the director of this movie?

From Quiz Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Answer: Andrew Adamson

Andrew Adamson is from the country of New Zealand. He has directed 'Shrek' and 'Shrek 2', as well as 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe'.

13. Why do the Narnians attack the camp where the Telmarines are gathering weapons, getting ready for the battle?

From Quiz Prince Caspian (2008)

Answer: They need some weapons and supplies.

Lord Miraz shows up at Telmar's camp, noticing that it is half destroyed. He asks General Glozelle what happened. After he is told he asks how many soilders died. At first, General Glozelle lies to Lord Miraz, saying that no one died during the attack by the Narnians, looking for weapons. But after Miraz hits him with the bottom of a sword, he says that there were three who died.

14. What does Miraz call Edmund, that causes him to correct the Telmarine king?

From Quiz "For Aslan!" Reviewing "Prince Caspian" (Part II)

Answer: Prince Edmund

When Edmund, the centuar and the giant arrive with the letter from Peter, they are received mockingly. Edmund maintains his dignity throughout this scene and when Miraz calls him Prince Edmund, he corrects him. "It's King, actually. Just King, though. Peter's the High King." And then, to Miraz's look of consternation, "I know. It's confusing."

15. When the Pevensie children arrive in Narnia, they discover that 1300 years have passed since the Golden Age ended. While walking around the ruins of Cair Paravel, Susan stumbles upon the solid gold chess piece. To whom does this chess piece belong?

From Quiz "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" Part I

Answer: Edmund

While Susan is studying the chess piece, Edmund walks over to her and says, "Hey, that is mine." Susan then gives him a look of disbelief, so Edmund then says, "Well I didn't have a solid gold chess set in Finchley, did I?" It is then that the Pevensies realise they are standing in the ruins of Cair Paravel.

16. Where do Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy find their Narnian clothes and weapons?

From Quiz The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Answer: in chests, in the ruins of Cair Paravel

When they arrive back in their beloved Narnia, they splash in the waters off the beach in sheer joy. The ruins of an old castle are noticed up on the top of the cliff so they go to explore, not remembering any ruins from before. They find that the ruins are all that's left of their previous home, Cair Paravel, which makes them realize that all is not good in Narnia. Inside what is left of the castle, they find chests with their old clothing and weapons inside.

17. Where are the Pevensie children, when they magically journey to Narnia?

From Quiz Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Answer: subway station

They are about to board the subway, but as it chugs by, through its windows, they can see a beach. When the train is past them, they are in Narnia!

18. What two creatures, which are shown, are still on the witch's side?

From Quiz Prince Caspian (2008)

Answer: Were-Wolf and Hag

Because Nikabrik loses all hope in winning the battle against the Telamarines, he brings Caspian to the Were-Wolf and the Hag, servants of the White Witch. They summon the witch Jadis. She says that one drop of Adam's blood will free her from the ice block she's stuck in. He almost believes that she can help him win the battle, before Peter, Edmund, and Trumpkin barge into the scene. They defeat Nikabrik, the Were-Wolf, and the Hag, and Peter pushes Caspian out of the witch's reach of the cut hand, that the Hag gave him.

19. Why does Miraz accept Peter's offer to duel, though he could have easily wiped out the Narnian army?

From Quiz "For Aslan!" Reviewing "Prince Caspian" (Part II)

Answer: Because of the opinion of his people

Miraz agrees to duel, only to look good in the eyes of his people. Peter turns out to be better than he had figured on - or at least, Miraz is worse than he thought. The fight between them is arguably one of the most tense parts of the movie.

20. The Pevensies' first look at how Narnia is now arrives in the shape of a bear. Lucy, unaware that this is just a dumb beast, walks over to it. The bear starts running towards Lucy. Who shoots the bear with an arrow?

From Quiz "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" Part I

Answer: Trumpkin

Trumpkin is the dwarf which helps the Pevensie children find Prince Caspian. He also becomes a great friend to Lucy. Susan and Lucy call him their DLF or Dear Little Friend. When Susan asks why the bear wouldn't stop, Trumpkin, the dwarf they rescue, replies "He was probably hungry." Trumpkin then goes on to explain how Narnia was invaded by Talmarines and how the Narnians had to retreat to the woods. Some of the animals have tried being a dumb animal for so long that is what they have become. The same with the trees.

21. Why do the Pevensies and Trumpkin end up at an impassable gorge (the first time)?

From Quiz "For Aslan!" Reviewing "Prince Caspian" (Part I)

Answer: Because Peter refuses to listen to Trumpkin's directions

Peter states, with some certainty, that the only way to get to Aslan's How is to cross at the River Rush. Trumpkin objects: "But unless I'm mistaken, there's no crossing in these parts." "That explains it, then," Peter snaps at him. "You're mistaken." Of course, Trumpkin ends up being right, because in the hundreds of years since the children have been there, the Rush has eroded its beds and dropped at least a hundred feet lower than before. Lucy sees Aslan motioning to them while they're there, but the others refuse to follow her (with the exception of Edmund, who tells the others that "the last time I didn't believe Lucy, I ended up looking pretty stupid.").

22. Who is the first, in this movie, to see Aslan?

From Quiz The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Answer: Lucy

Aslan has not been seen in Narnia since the Pevensie children inadvertently wandered back through the wardrobe, hundreds of years before, but his legend lives on. When the party, led by Peter, are trying to find their way down the gorge to the river, to get across, Lucy excitedly points and says that she sees Aslan over by the ravine's edge. She thinks he wants them to go that way. Since no one else has seen the lion, they follow Peter to a place to ford, only to find that the Telmarines are there in force, building a bridge. So they return to the spot where Lucy saw Aslan and, when she explores it, she finds a path down the cliff that allows them to cross the river more easily. Aslan also comes to her in a dream and she is the one to eventually seek him out and bring him back.

23. What character does Lucy see, with the others thinking she has just imagined it?

From Quiz Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Answer: Aslan

At first, everyone thinks that Lucy is just seeing things and do not want to risk getting hurt for something they think is not there. Then, when battles start to happen and things are taking a turn for the worse, Lucy is sent to find Aslan and bring him back for help. People are finally starting to believe her.

24. What line does Aslan say to Lucy in her dream and when she finds him in the movie?

From Quiz Prince Caspian (2008)

Answer: "Things never happen the same way twice, dear one."

Lucy sees Aslan in her dream. She has an encounter with him later also, when she is searching for him in the woods to ask him for help. She ends up finding him while she is being chased by a Telmarine soldier. He says this line both in her dream and in the woods. No one believes that Lucy saw Aslan, but Aslan also asks her why she wouldn't come to him, even though the others didn't believe. She replies that she was too scared to come alone and find him.

25. After Caspian falls off his horse, he is taken care of by a badger. What is the name of this helpful animal?

From Quiz "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" Part I

Answer: Trufflehunter

Trufflehunter is the badger that rescues Prince Caspian after he falls off his horse Destrier while trying to escape Miraz's troops. Mimbleweather is a giant from Dead Man's Hill, Nikabrik is a dwarf living with Trufflehunter and Reepicheep is a brave mouse who helps save Narnia. Trufflehunter is injured as they head towards the Dancing Lawn for the Council Meeting.

26. Who is the first to hold a sword at Caspian's throat?

From Quiz "For Aslan!" Reviewing "Prince Caspian" (Part I)

Answer: Reepicheep

As Prince Caspian, Nikkabrik and Trufflehunter are heading through the woods for Aslan's How (the plain where the mound hiding the Stone Table is), they are attacked by a cadre of crossbowmen. Trufflehunter is wounded in the ensuing flight, while the crossbowmen are taken down by a mysterious something that slithers around in the grass. It ends up being the noble mouse, Reepicheep, who nearly kills Caspian, but is interrupted by Trufflehunter. "I trust you have a very good reason for this untimely interruption," he growls angrily. "He doesn't," says Nikkabrik noncommittally. "Go ahead." Of course, Caspian is once again spared by Trufflehunter's explanation and Reepicheep immediately swears his allegiance to Caspian.

27. Together, with Prince Caspian and the remaining Narnians, the children are taken to a stone fortress, that will serve as their basis of operation. What do they find at the heart of the fortress?

From Quiz The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Answer: the broken Stone Table

The Stone Table was the one on which the White Witch sacrificed Aslan in "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", after first having his mane shorn. Aslan offered himself up as a substitute for Edmund, whose treachery made his blood forfeit to the Witch, by the laws of the Ancient Magic. Because Aslan was free of guilt and had willingly offered himself up in sacrifice, his life (and mane) were restored. The Table cracked when Aslan returned to life. In the years between when the children returned to England and when the Telmarines drove them into hiding, the Narnians had obviously enclosed the Stone Table, as somewhere special.

28. For which of the Pevensie children does Prince Caspian seem to have feelings for?

From Quiz Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Answer: Susan

Susan plays hard to get, but you can tell the Prince and Susan may have a "crush" on each other, because of the way they sometimes look at each other. Before Susan leaves to go back to England, she even kisses the Prince.

29. When Trufflehunter asks Trumpkin what the Kings and Queens (Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter) are like, what does Trumpkin refer them to as?

From Quiz Prince Caspian (2008)

Answer: Mules

When the Narnians are marching to Aslan's How to prepare for the battle, the badger asks Trumpkin what 'they' are like, and he makes the comment that they are "stubborn as mules in the morning". Nikabrik knows somehow that it means Trumpkin likes them.

30. When Peter takes a break from the duel between him and Miraz, what despondent question of his causes Edmund to jerk his dislocated arm back into socket with force that makes Peter groan?

From Quiz "For Aslan!" Reviewing "Prince Caspian" (Part II)

Answer: "I wonder what happens in the real world if you die here?"

This quote is said during a short break in the fighting, while Edmund is tending to Peter's wounds. Peter is sure he's going to die in the fight between he and Miraz. The High King is wondering aloud what would happen to him in England if Miraz kills him in their duel. Miraz nearly kills him several times, and when Peter gets the chance to kill him, he allows him a second chance, against Edmund's advice: "Now's not the time for chivalry, Peter!" Miraz, taking advantage of Peter's chivalry, comes back and nearly stabs Peter from behind.
