Big Hero 6 Trivia Questions

1. Hiro is a very intelligent and competent boy - he graduated high school at 13, and created a robot that wrecked the competition in a back alley robot fight. What is Hiro's last name, mentioned many times throughout the film?

From Quiz
The "Big Hero 6" Mix!

Answer: Hamada

Tomago is Go Go's last name. Takachiho is the last name of Hiro in the manga of the same name, and Miyazaki is the last name of Honey Lemon, or Aiko, in that manga. Hiro says this himself in the bot-fighting scene.

2. "Big Hero 6" takes place in a world that looks a little like our own, but clearly isn't. In which fictional city does the movie take place?

From Quiz Big Hero 6

Answer: San Fransokyo

San Fransokyo was an amalgamation of San Francisco and Tokyo, two cities with strong tech industries. The setting incorporated elements of both eastern and western architecture and culture. A major landmark of San Fransokyo was a large red bridge similar to the Golden Gate bridge, but with the arches made to look like torii. There was also a tower that resembled the Tokyo Tower. There was even an abandoned facility out on an island in the bay, similar to Alcatraz. Corona and Arendelle were from the movies "Tangled" and "Frozen", respectively. They were also animated movies made by Disney.

3. The hero of the film was helpfully named Hiro Hamada. In what was illegal activity was Hiro partaking when the movie opened?

From Quiz Big Hero 6

Answer: Robot Fighting

Actually, the robot fights were not strictly illegal. Betting money on them was, though. In San Fransokyo there seemed to be a vibrant underground scene in which people could bring their own robots to fights, and bet on the matches. Hiro played the part of a naive amateur, and deliberately lost the first round so his opponent would be willing to put even more money on a rematch. Hiro was hiding his potential, and it turned out he was a very competent robot designer and fighter. He won handily, which made the whole situation very tense.

4. Tadashi was killed in a fire, which broke out at what point?

From Quiz The "Big Hero 6" Mix!

Answer: During an exhibition

Hiro was showing off his microbots at this exhibition. It is later revealed that Callaghan sparked the fire and shielded himself with Hiro's microbots. A funeral for Tadashi (and Callaghan, even though he wasn't actually dead) was held, and Hiro kept to himself more for a while after that. There wasn't a marathon nor anything related to lunch in the movie, and the fire broke out after Hiro's speech, not during it.

5. One day, Hiro activates Baymax, Tadashi's robot and healthcare companion, and discovers a twitching microbot. Baymax believes it is trying to go somewhere, and follows it to what building?

From Quiz The "Big Hero 6" Mix!

Answer: An abandoned warehouse

Baymax and Hiro find thousands of microbots being produced in the warehouse, along with a mysterious masked figure named "Yokai" telepathically controlling said microbots. The warehouse was a "factory" of sorts for generating the microbots. It is unknown of what the warehouse's original purpose was. There are many other warehouses scattered around San Fransokyo.

6. Hiro was convinced by what he saw at the robotics lab, and decided to apply to the school. Before he could get in, he had to impress Professor Callaghan with his skills. What did Hiro end up building for the science fair to showcase his brilliance?

From Quiz Big Hero 6

Answer: Mind-Controlled Microbots

Hiro struggled for a while to come up with an idea before settling on microbots. The microbots were even smaller versions of the components Hiro had used to make his gladiator robot. Each microbot was only a couple centimeters long, but en mass they could be used to construct any sturdy shape thought by the person wearing the neural-cranial transmitter. The incorrect answers to this question were experiments being worked on by Tadashi's friends in the science lab.

7. Baymax discovers an abandoned Krei Tech lab which contains a computer with a video on it. In this video, Callaghan's daughter Abigail is the test subject for a teleportation project. What is the name of this project?

From Quiz The "Big Hero 6" Mix!

Answer: Project Silent Sparrow

The project WAS named the Silent Sparrow - Abigail was sent into a portal, when she went into the first, she was supposed to exit from the second, but the system bugged, and Abigail was left in limbo between the two portals. Krei says the name of the project when he is demonstrating how the portals work.

8. Hiro and Baymax rush into the broken teleportation portal to save Abigail, but Baymax has to sacrifice himself to save Hiro and Abigail. What part of his body does Baymax use to get them through the portal?

From Quiz The "Big Hero 6" Mix!

Answer: His fist

Baymax's fist can be ejected from his arm like a rocket. It is later revealed that Baymax put his healthcare chip inside his fist so Hiro could rebuild him.

9. What is the name of Aunt Cass's white, black, and orange cat?

From Quiz The "Big Hero 6" Mix!

Answer: Mochi

Aunt Cass and Hiro have pointed out Mochi's name on multiple occasions. She is a Japanese Bobtail cat. Baymax has called Mochi a "hairy baby" on occasion. Mochi is also a Japanese rice cake, usually made in a traditional ceremony called mochitsuki.
