Douglas said playing the part gave him the feeling of playing a veteran of the military and of someone who looked like he belonged more in the 50s or 60s.

Also, there would be the insufferable, jerk golfer who had a heart attack in front of him and needed his heart pills to live, which were in the cart William shot and sent rolling into a water hazard. There was also the incident with the bazooka and the construction site.

When he hits his ball, it barely misses William, so he pulls out one of the weapons, and starts having a fit on Frank for trying to hit him with a golf ball, and for what the land their country club was on could be used for. As mentioned in question 6, William then shot their golf cart, sending it straight into a water hazard and Frank into cardiac arrest. When Frank says he needs his heart pills, which were in the golf cart, William basically told him "Too bad."

At this point, William said he had another gun and goaded Pendergast into shooting him. His gun was actually a water pistol, which he did shoot water at Pendergast with it and then, before dying, said he would've got him.
