Elissa isn't credited for any lyrics during her one year and six months with The Go-Go's. According to Bello's documentary interview in "The Go-Go's" (2020), "I had to answer to my employer, and I had to answer to the band. They wanted me to quit my job, the girls, and be more dedicated. I stuck my toe in the water, but I never dove in all the way" (Ellwood, 2020). After leaving The Go-Go's in 1979, Elissa was a member of Alarma!, Castration Squad, Interpol, Pasional, Sexsick, Suave Bolla and The Boneheads.
