"Shame, Shame, Shame" was released as a single in 1990 on RATT's fifth studio album "Detonator". The song features a 55 second long opening guitar intro, a different track titled "Intro to Shame", performed by RATT co-guitarist Warren DeMartini.

Lead singer Stephen Pearcy wanted to be a race car driver when he was younger. He changed his mind after he was involved in a bad car accident when he was fifteen. Stephen formed his first band, Mickey Ratt, with guitarist Robbin Crosby.

Robbin Crosby was nicknamed "The King". He was the co-lead guitarist of RATT and co-wrote many of their biggest hits including "Wanted Man", "Lay It Down" and "Round and Round", arguably their most well-known song. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with HIV in 1994, and had full-blown AIDS in 2001. Robbin "The King" Crosby died of a heroin overdose on June 6th, 2002 at the age of 42.

Problems continued to plague Ratt into the late '80s. After they sent the tapes for their fourth album, "Reach for the Sky", to the president of Atlantic Records, he said the tapes sounded terrible. Ratt had to re-record the album with producer Beau Hill.

RATT did not release any albums in the 2000s. They released a self-titled album in 1999, and "Infestation" in 2010. RATT did, however, release two compilation albums in the 2000s: "The Essentials" in 2002 and "Tell The World: The Very Best Of RATT" in 2007. "Shout at the Devil" was a studio album released by glam metal band Motley Crue in 1983. "Theatre of Pain", also by Motley Crue, in 1985. "The Razors Edge" was released by heavy metal band AC/DC in 1990.

Ratt reformed in 1996 with Stephen, Warren, Bobby, and new bassist Robbie Crane. They lasted four years, then Stephen quit again. Robbin died in June of 2002, not from AIDS, but from a heroin overdose. Stephen continues to tour as a solo artist. The only two orignal members who tour with Ratt are Warren DeMartini and Bobby Blotzer.
