Answer: You're in Trouble

Lead singer Stephen Pearcy wanted to be a race car driver when he was younger. He changed his mind after he was involved in a bad car accident when he was fifteen. Stephen formed his first band, Mickey Ratt, with guitarist Robbin Crosby.

Answer: She Wants Money

Stephen and Robbin shortened the name of their band to Ratt and found bassist Juan Crucier, guitarist Warran DeMartini, and drummer Bobby Blotzer.

Answer: Back for More

Ratt released a six-song EP album in 1983. That fall, they were signed to Atlantic Records.

Ratt's first album, "Out of the Cellar", was released in 1984. The video "Round and Round" includes a guest appearance by Milton Berle, the uncle of their manager at the time.

Ratt's third album, "Dancing Undercover" arrived in 1986. By this time, the band had a lot of competition with heavier bands like Guns N' Roses.

Problems continued to plague Ratt into the late '80s. After they sent the tapes for their fourth album, "Reach for the Sky", to the president of Atlantic Records, he said the tapes sounded terrible. Ratt had to re-record the album with producer Beau Hill.

Robbin Crosby continued to slip into heroin addiction. Around 1990, it was starting to interfere with his playing. He was in drug rehab during most of the recording of Ratt's fifth album, "Detonator".

During the "Detonator" tour, Robbin Crosby had to be replaced. Stephen Pearcy left Ratt in 1992, and the band fell apart. Robbin was diagnosed with AIDS in 1994.

Ratt reformed in 1996 with Stephen, Warren, Bobby, and new bassist Robbie Crane. They lasted four years, then Stephen quit again. Robbin died in June of 2002, not from AIDS, but from a heroin overdose. Stephen continues to tour as a solo artist. The only two orignal members who tour with Ratt are Warren DeMartini and Bobby Blotzer.
