Robbie Williams Trivia Questions

1. Can you finish the opening lyrics to this Bobby Darin 1959 classic song, "Mack the Knife"? "Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear _______________________________"

From Quiz
Swing When You're Winning

Answer: And it shows them pearly white

"Die Moritat von Mackie Messer", or "The Ballad of Mack the Knife", was originally written for a German opera which opened in 1928 called "The Threepenny Opera". It told of Macheath, an underworld criminal involved in rape, robbery and murder. The beginning lyrics to "Mack the Knife" do not relate to shark teeth as it suggests, but to the knife used in criminal activity by Macheath. The song was a great success for Bobby Darin towards the beginning of his career but it was to become his only number one single in the US Billboard Hot 100. Robbie Williams was keen to record an album featuring his favourite big band songs. "Swing When You're Winning" featured such songs and these included the cover version of "Mack the Knife".
