Answer: Jarrod Molloy

Molloy was a big-bodied key position player with the ability to turn a game in a short matter of time. Initially drafted by Fitzroy, where he was nominated for the AFL's Rising Star award, he became a Brisbane Lion when the Fitzroy merged with the Brisbane club in 1997. He played 59 games with Fitzroy and 61 with Brisbane, where he was the club's leading goalkicker in 1999. He would finish his career playing 49 games for Collingwood and surprising most pundits by finishing runner-up in the 2001 Copeland Trophy.

The prodigious talent of Jason Akermanis saw him not only win the Brownlow, but also participate in the three winning premiership sides with the Lions. He played from 1995 until 2010, when he ended his career with the Western Bulldogs. He started his career with the Brisbane Bears in 1995 while still in high school. The Bears would become the Brisbane Lions in 1997. In all Akermanis played 248 games for the club.

Ash McGrath, a veteran of 214 games with the Lions and a premiership player for the team in 2003, played as a forward in the 2013 series and was largely instrumental in Australia's success.

Michael Voss, who captained the All-Australian team twice is considered by some to be in the top 50 players of all time. He won the first Brownlow awarded to a member of the Brisbane team in 1996.

The Madden Medal recognises a player's career as a whole. It is awarded by the AFL Player's Association to the retiring player who "best demonstrated on-field excellence, personal development and growth, as well as community spirit over the course of his playing career". Luke Power was a highly regarded midfielder as a junior and the Lions were overjoyed to select him at number five in the 1997 National Draft. He would reward the club with 282 games of great service and was a member of the club's triple premiership successes in 2001, 2002 and 2003.

A key position player who stood at 195 centimetres in height and weight 103 kilograms, Brown was vital to his club's success in winning three premierships at the turn of the century. He was also a three time club Best & Fairest winner, a two time All Australian selection, won the Coleman Medal as the League's leading goalkicker in 2007 and was captain of the club from 2009 to 2012. His courage saw him win the Robert Rose Medal (for Most Courageous) in 2007, 2008 and 2011. His courage, however, did come at a cost and he battled a series of injuries during his career including a horrific facial injury in 2011.

Matthews was one of a group who formed the initial elevation when the Hall of Fame was created in 1996. His list of achievements is extraordinary. As a player he took to the field on 332 occasions for Hawthorn, kicked 915 goals for them and assisted them to four premierships. One of the most astute coaching minds in the sport, he would add a further four premierships to his mantle as a club coach; one with Collingwood in 1990 and he would then lead the Brisbane Lions to their three-peat in 2001, 2002 and 2003.

Seen as one of the game's best ever captains, he led the club to four consecutive Grand Finals between 2001 and 2004, winning a hat trick of flags in the first three years of that run. He would win the highly prestigious Leigh Matthews Trophy, judged by the AFL Players Association as the most valuable player in the competition on two occasions.
