Answer: Maury Wills

Interestingly in 1962 when Maury Wills broke Ty Cobb's single season stolen base record there was an asterisk placed in the record book because the National League had just recently increased the number of games per season from 154 to 162. This was similar to how an asterisk was placed next to Roger Maris' 61 home run total in the 1961 season. Possibly even more remarkable than his 104 stolen bases in 1962 was that Wills was only caught stealing 13 times meaning his stolen base percentage was almost 90%.

30. This player played second base for the great Cincinnati Reds teams of the 1970s. He finished his career with 689 stolen bases. Who was this player?
