One of the closest point battles ever, appropriately ended close when Kulwicki beat Elliott by 10 points. And it's all because of that one lap Kulwicki led that Elliott didn't. If Elliott would have led one lap that Kulwicki didn't, their point totals would have been tied but the championship would go to Elliott by virtue of more wins, Elliott with five and Kulwicki with two. But Kulwicki led the most, and because of it, won the championship by 10 points, one of the narrowest margins in Nascar history.
