Following that was the Motorcraft Quality Parts 500 at Atlanta where he led only 46 laps of 328, but it was good enough to score win number three in a row. Finally, to make it four in a row, Bill won the Transouth 500 at Darlington where he led 93 of the 367 laps, and winning by more than four seconds over Harry Gant.
5. At which race track did Bill finally take the point lead in 1992?

9. What was the final point margin in the season?

Answer: 10 points

One of the closest point battles ever, appropriately ended close when Kulwicki beat Elliott by 10 points. And it's all because of that one lap Kulwicki led that Elliott didn't. If Elliott would have led one lap that Kulwicki didn't, their point totals would have been tied but the championship would go to Elliott by virtue of more wins, Elliott with five and Kulwicki with two.

But Kulwicki led the most, and because of it, won the championship by 10 points, one of the narrowest margins in Nascar history.
10. Bill Elliott, Davey Allison, and Alan Kulwicki were the only drivers all season to lead the point standings.

Answer: True

It was a 29 race season. Davey led for 17 weeks, Bill led for 11 weeks, and Alan led the most important week, the last one to become champion.
