In the opening scene, we see Opie riding his bike no-handed to try and impress a girl he goes to school with. When he wrecks his bike to the point of needing repairs, Andy makes a comment about how he ought to make Opie go out and earn the money to fix it so he can understand how hard it is to make a dollar. Opie ultimately tries to find a job, first searching at the filing station and also the barber shop. Aunt Bee sees a sign for a delivery boy wanted at the local market and tells Opie about it. After he and another boy both apply, the owner allows them both to work for a week and then decides which boy would be the permanent employee.

2. When the episode starts, Andy is listening to a newscast about women escaping from prison. How many women had escaped?

The Reo Flying Cloud Purcell was driving was an actual car from the 1930s.
