Piccolo's first underling heads to Pilaf's airship as they speak....until he's intercepted by Goku on the Flying Nimbus.

Bulma, Yamcha, and the others arrive moments too late for the battle, but not too soon to reunite with their friend. Goku, now with six Dragon Balls, says that he'll still continue to search for the final ball, but it won't show up on the Dragon Radar. Bulma assumes that the problem lays with the hiding spot of the ball; they won't be able to find it as is. On Master Roshi's recommendation, Goku decides to visit the mysterious Fortuneteller Baba for guidance, but not before gathering Upa for the quest, getting a new outfit, and flying along with Yamcha, Puar, and Krillin in tow.

Out in the west, Captain Yellow leads his own faction of the Red Ribbon Army in the search for a Dragon Ball in the center of an active volcano. Taking a helicopter into the crater to retrieve it, they unknowingly anger the local gods. Natives Bora and Upa, a father and son, end up intercepting the Dragon Ball as it flies five miles away, and when General Yellow discovers the valuable item in his possession, a gunfight ensues. Of course, Bora won't give it up; he withstands their gunfire and defeats the group (and their helicopters) while Yellow gets away. By the time Goku arrives, however, General Yellow has kidnapped Upa for use as a bargaining chip. He's able to stop Yellow (with a punch to the face), save Upa, and receive the four-star Dragon Ball, the very one his Grandfather gave him. Commander Red decides to send Mercenary Tao to kill him. General Blue, having been thrown out to the desert, vows to get back at Goku...somehow. He finally gets back to the Red Ribbon Army Headquarters.

On the island, however, Bulma is attacked by two helicopters from the nearby island base of the Red Ribbon Army, alerting the two to the idea that they may not be alone in the search quite yet.
