Born in the Chicago area in 1914, Moore started out as a circus acrobat and aerialist. After that he moved to New York and worked as a male model. A variety of reasons are given as to why Moore opted out of the 1953 filming season of "The Lone Ranger" and actor John Hart assumed the role. A salary dispute is the reason most given, but Moore returned in 1954 to again bring TV outlaws to justice. Well after the Lone Ranger ended on TV, Moore continued to make public appearances in character. Legally forbidden to wear the iconic black mask, he donned an pair of wrap-around sunglasses during these performances. Moore passed away in 1999 at age 85.
