From Quiz Hercule Poirot's Christmas

Answer: Slashed throat

13. What was the first novel adapted for this series?

From Quiz "Poirot": The TV Series

Answer: Peril at End House

"Peril at End House" was the first feature length episode in the series. Do not get it confused with "The Mysterious Affair at Styles". That takes place first chronologically, but it was not the first feature length "Poirot" episode to be made.

14. At the murder scene, what does Pilar pick up from the floor?

From Quiz Hercule Poirot's Christmas

Answer: A pink rubber band and a small wooden peg

Initially, the pink piece of plastic and the wooden peg don't mean much to Poirot but as his "little grey cells" begin their work, a comment from Harry Lee, that the scream from his father's room sounded like killing a pig, remind him of a pink balloon with the painted face of a pig he saw in the village novelty store where he went in search for a Christmas present for Chief Inspector Japp. These balloons were sold at fairs and were named "Dying Pigs" because as the air was rushed out of them it made a wailing noise. That discovery lead Poirot to the conclusion that the murder scene was staged and the murder had indeed occurred at an earlier time.

20. At the closing scene of the episode we see Hercule Poirot and Chief Inspector Japp opening their Christmas presents. What present did Chief Inspector Japp give Poirot?

From Quiz Hercule Poirot's Christmas

Answer: A pair of wool gloves

Poirot had opened the present earlier and wasn't exactly thrilled with it. A pair of hand made wool gloves would hardly match Poirot's polished appearance with his waxed moustache and white spats over his patent leather shoes. However, being a gentleman, he told Chief Inspector Japp that he liked his present so much he saved it only for going to church! Poirot's present to Chief Inspector Japp was a box of Jamaican cigars.

21. Mr Ratchett had been stabbed twelve times, and, as usual, there was a limited field of suspects. In which episode did Poirot reveal that they all did it?

From Quiz All Will Be Revealed

Answer: Murder on the Orient Express

In the fourth episode of series twelve, originally aired in 2010, Poirot found himself on board the Orient Express when it became stuck in a snowstorm, and the unsavoury American was discovered dead, stabbed to death in his sleeping compartment. Poirot needed to discover the murderer before the train was free to move, and escape would be possible. In one of Agatha Christie's most well-known surprise endings, Poirot revealed that Ratchett was actually a fugitive named Cassetti, who had kidnapped and killed young Daisy Armstrong despite the payment of a large ransom. All the other passengers had been deeply wounded by the event and/or its aftermath, and had come together to act as a twelve-person jury to execute judgment on the man who had been the cause of their suffering. As Poirot explained, only this could explain the maze of conflicting clues that he had found. Or it might have been some unknown enemy who had secretly boarded the train, committed the murder, then escaped through the snow.

22. What happened to the culprit?

From Quiz "Poirot: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd"

Answer: He shot himself

He ended up committing suicide when he saw that he couldn't escape. Poirot took Sheppard's journal and put it in a safe deposit box.

23. What is the episode where a lady believes she is being poisoned by her dentist husband?

From Quiz "Poirot": The TV Series

Answer: The Cornish Mystery
