Miss Lemon falls in love with the murder victim's valet (Graves) in "The Adventure of the Italian Nobleman". He turns out to be the murderer, but in the end, after a long car chase, he gives up. Hastings punches him into the water, and remarks, "That's for Miss Lemon". Graves used her to gain admittance to Poirot to establish false facts about his master's death.

In the end, though, she is happy he has been arrested because he was going to have his master's cat killed.

Philip Jackson stars as Chef Inspector James Japp, one of Poirot's great friends.
