In 1918, while on an undercover assignment for the French intelligence, Indy fell in love with Giulietta, a beautiful local girl with a very traditional Italian family. One day when he visited her at home, he came to realize that he was not the only one vying for her affection. The other man in Giulietta's life turned out to be Indy's pal, Ernest "Ernie" Hemingway, who drove an ambulance for wounded soldiers. Endeavoring to outdo each other, the two love-sick boys did some outrageous things trying to win her heart. In the end, Giulietta dumped them both for a long-time family friend named Alfredo. Indy and Ernie patched things up in a hospital where they were being treated for wounds from a surprise German air raid. They made a pact that they would never fall in love with the same girl again.

Although Harrison Ford did make a guest star appearance for the episode titled 'The Mystery of the Blues', George Hall was the main actor who portrayed Indy as an old man. The old Indy scenes were book-ended with each of the original episodes. William Hopkins played Major Eaton in 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' and also had a small role as a Russian ballet producer in the Young Indiana Jones episode titled 'Espionage Escapades'. Although Clint Eastwood did not make an appearance in the series, he was offered the role of Indy's elder brother in the series for $10 million, but turned the part down. During the writing stage of production, George Lucas had another idea to film an episode that had to do with the crystal skulls which never came to fruition. Apparently, the idea still remained to produce Indiana Jones' latest adventure, 'The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'.

Indy was to go there and cut all the explosive wires so that the British troops could raid the town and have water after being deprived of it for three days of traveling to get there. His partner on the mission was a very beautiful Arab woman (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones) who posed as a spy for the Allies, and attempted to thwart Indy's plans. In the end, the British attack was successful, and Indy was able to stop a German officer (played by Daniel Craig) from destroying the very last well in the camp.

We learn this in the episode where Indy traveled through China with his mother and Miss Seymour. Sadly, little Susan did not live past infancy. While traveling, Indy became very ill and they had to stop at a farmer's home that was two miles away from the nearest village. Indy's mother sent Miss Seymour to fetch a modern doctor, who was in a larger village which was a three days' journey away. While awaiting their return, Indy became worse forcing his mother to fetch the local Chinese doctor, who arrived and administered acupuncture on him. Finally, the fever broke and Indy slowly got well. Indy's mother showed the farmer's family her thanks by paying the debt on their farm.
