Banjo-Tooie Trivia Questions

1. How is lagoon owner Roger described in the title of the fourth world of the game?

From Quiz
9 for 10 - "Banjo-Tooie"

Answer: Jolly

At first glance, Jolly Roger's Lagoon is a rather small world, with an inn, a pawn shop, Mumbo's Skull and the titular lagoon. However, once Mumbo has worked his magic and oxygenated the water in the lagoon, you'll be able to dive down into the depths and discover the lost city of Atlantis. Here, a whole host of Jiggies and other goodies can be obtained as you explore the ruins.

2. Mayahem Temple shouldn't take many tries, You must help Bovina kill how many flies?

From Quiz Eburge's Tower of Tragedy

Answer: Four

Bovina has a bit of a fly (or Globble as they're referred to in the game) problem, and it's up to you to get rid of them. Four eggs is all it takes (if you're pro at egg aiming), and you'll be walking out of there with a Jiggy in no time. If you've learned how to grab onto ledges, take a look above the little hut near Bovina - you'll see an empty honeycomb.

3. A treble clef is on top of which Jinjo house in Jinjo Village?

From Quiz Banjo-Tooie

Answer: Red

Treble Clefs are worth twenty notes. If you collect enough notes, you can get new moves from Jamjars the mole. There is one treble clef in each level and can mainly be found in well-hidden places.

4. ...if we're racing Canary Mary?

From Quiz Where in "Banjo-Tooie" are we...

Answer: Glitter Gulch Mine

In Glitter Gulch Mine you can find a canary trapped in a cage. If you bust the rusty old cage and release the bird from her toxic prison, you'll be given the chance to race her along the tracks of the mine. Once to win a Jiggy, and a second time to win a Cheato Page. You can then race her twice again (for a Jiggy and Cheato Page) in Cloud Cuckooland.

5. What does this mean in stony: "To free the trapped one, a star must appear before the sun rises. Another star appears, followed by two moons. Does that help?"?

From Quiz "Banjo-Tooie"

Answer: Icx dib zagim avlnr icx tsoqa xoli. Nuganip yumk icx carxko.

In Hailfire Peaks, there is another kickball tournament but you cannot understand the stony language. You must take a secret passage to Mayahem Temple and transform into a Stony so you can play in the Hailfire Peaks kickball tournament. Sadly, you cannot leave the lobby as a Stony.

6. Which item do you need to enter Jiggywiggy's Temple?

From Quiz The Items and Objects of "Banjo-Tooie"

Answer: Jiggies

Once inside you will be able to challenge a puzzle of a moving picture. If you complete the puzzle then Master Jiggywiggy will use his power to open new worlds for you. There are ten Jiggies in each world. Collect as many as you can to open as many worlds as you can so you can repeat the process over and over and over again.

7. Scrat, the Styracosaurus, has to be put on a train to the Cliff Top so Mumbo can perform some of his famous magic of his. Why does Scrat have to see Mumbo?

From Quiz Mumbo Magic of "Banjo-Tooie"

Answer: To be cured

The yellow Styracosaurus has to be Taxi Packed to the train station, and then transported to the Cliff Top where Mumbo can cure the sick dinosaur. Just send Chuffy back to Terrydactyland and you'll have completed one third of the Styracosaurus Jiggy hunt.

8. What is the hollowed out portion of the mountain called?

From Quiz Cloud Cuckooland

Answer: Central Cavern

The Central Cavern has doorways to almost anywhere around the world. The single move to be learned in this world is also in the Central Cavern. Watch out for the 2-D enemies that pop up from the ground.

9. Which side of the world is Mumbo's hut?

From Quiz Hailfire Peaks

Answer: Lava Side

After entering the world, you will be able to see the big scull to your left. The Glowbo is located by the lower flying pad.

10. How do you enter the building for the first time?

From Quiz Grunty Industries

Answer: Use Chuffy

All the doors on the building are locked from the inside. The only thing you can do is hit the train switch and then ride on in from another station.

11. In the land of Terry, there's a clan of heavily armored cave men known as what?

From Quiz Terrydactyland

Answer: Rocknuts Tribe

There are five Rocknuts in Terrydactyland, each with a hard suit of armor plating. There is a flaw in its design, though, which leaves their rears relatively unprotected. Rocknuts are alert and weary of Bears (which means that they will always face towards Banjo and/or Kazooie) and won't allow them a clear line of fire at their vulnerable parts. However, they don't seem to be able to look down because you can just send a Clockwork Kazooie Egg around them and neutralize them.

12. What do you use to get across the surface of the lagoon to save the Jinjo?

From Quiz Jolly Roger's Lagoon

Answer: Running Shoes

You can purchase these at Blubber's for one doubloon. Break open the box, put on the sneakers, and run at top speed to the Jinjo. You'll run right over the water, but if you slow down, you'll fall into chilly water (luckily, you still have your fur and feathers to keep you warm, so don't fret).

13. Which area are the Claw Clamber Boots closest to?

From Quiz Witchy World

Answer: Western

The Big Top Tent is stretched between the Space Area and the Western Area. On the Space side there's a Jinjo, and on the western side, you can find the claw clamber boot required to climb the wall to Terrydactyland.

14. By the Glowbo closest the Mumbo's Skull, there's an entrance. Where does this lead to?

From Quiz Glitter Gulch Mine

Answer: Gloomy Caverns

The Gloomy Caverns merely provide access to the Generator Cavern and the Power Hut. Apart from that, the Gloomy Caverns has a set of Split-Up Pads and a Jinjo in a jail cell.

15. What is Bovina distressed about?

From Quiz Mayahem Temple

Answer: Her crops are infested with flies

Shoot down 4 flies using your Egg Aim ability and the cow will give you a Jiggy, and, while you're at it, you can grab the Empty Honey Comb piece. Bovina's crops can be found across the bridge from Targetzan's Temple.

16. Where in Spiral Mountain is the Jinjo?

From Quiz Isle o' Hags

Answer: Under the waterfall

You have to use the Talon Torpedo to break a rock and then there's the Jinjo in a small cave. You can Learn the Talon Torpedo in the Electric Eels' Lair in Jolly Roger's Lagoon.

17. At Jolly Roger's lagoon, what does Mumbo do to the water?

From Quiz Banjo Tooie

Answer: Oxygenates it

You need the water to be drown-proof here.

18. What is attached to the bottom of a Claw Clamber boot?

From Quiz Banjo-Tooie

Answer: suction cup

The path where Claw Clamber boots can be used is indicated with bird tracks leading up a wall.

19. Where does Banjo live?

From Quiz Banjo-Tooie

Answer: Spiral Mountain

20. What is the name of the character who opens new levels?

From Quiz Banjo Tooie

Answer: Master Jiggy Wiggy

Jiggy Wiggy opens the levels when you get enough puzzle pieces.

21. Where would you come across a character called Mildred?

From Quiz 9 for 10 - "Banjo-Tooie"

Answer: In Hailfire Peaks on the icy side

Mildred and her husband George are ice cubes and have been separated from one another ever since a blizzard hit Hailfire Peaks. Bizarrely, George found himself high above the Isle in Cloud Cuckooland, desperate to get back home. Unfortunately, the pair are never to be reunited (if you're going for full completion of the game, that is). Mildred has a Jinjo frozen inside her and the only way to get it is to smash her to smithereens. George requests to be nudged off his platform, having calculated that he is directly above the icy side of Hailfire Peaks and should fall safely back to the ground. It turns out he's actually above the fire side, so he lands in hot water and melts away.

22. In Glitter Gulch Mine, you best be wary, What is the name of the yellow canary?

From Quiz Eburge's Tower of Tragedy

Answer: Mary

Canary Mary has something wedged in her...well, no need for the details, but it's a Jiggy. And she has a Cheato page as well, but to get both, you need to race her on a mine cart through the level, and back again. If you think that's the last you've seen of Mary, think again. She makes a return appearance in Cloud Cuckooland, and is ready for more racing!

23. In Mayahem Temple, Mumbo summons a giant statue. Without Mumbo, how many Jiggies are still available here?

From Quiz Banjo-Tooie

Answer: Three

This statue is essential on your quest! Without it, you cannot enter Jade Snake Grove or Prison Compound, which both have two Jiggies in them. You also can't get the kickball Jiggy, since you must be a Stony and Wumba is in Jade Snake Grove. You also can't get the Grip Grab move or uncover the Flight Pad, which means you can't get the Jiggy on top of Targitzan's Temple. You can't rescue his relic from the Treasure Chamber, because to get to the top you must either Grip Grab or fly. This only leaves the two in Targitzan's Temple and the one from Bovina for killing her flies.

24. ...if we're talking to Loggo?

From Quiz Where in "Banjo-Tooie" are we...

Answer: Grunty Industries

Loggo is a returning character from "Banjo-Kazooie". Last game, he was stuck in Gruntilda's Mansion, which was bad enough already. Now he's in the worker's quarters of Grunty Industries and used by all kinds of unpleasant people. In fact, he's been so used and mistreated that he's become clogged. If you use your Bill Drill technique on Loggo, you'll unclog him and get a Cheato Page.

25. In the Ordnance Storage entrance, how many crates are marked "danger"?

From Quiz "Banjo-Tooie"

Answer: 3

In the Ordnance Storage mini game, you must defuse 20 TNT sticks in a limited amount of time. You cannot shoot them with an egg otherwise the TNT stick will blow up. Therefore, you must use the Beak Bayonet to defuse them safely.

26. What is the name of the short critters that will give you a Jiggy if you rescue a whole family of them?

From Quiz The Items and Objects of "Banjo-Tooie"

Answer: Jinjos

There are nine Jinjo families. Each family has a different number of members. The white family, for example, has only one member, while the black family has nine. If you rescue all the Jinjos of a family, they will give you a Jiggy. There are five Jinjos in every world (including the Isle-o-Hags).

27. What is the drawback to use the Detonator's attack?

From Quiz Humba Wumba's Transformations

Answer: It damages itself

The Detonator has to go around Glitter Gulch Mine setting off the explosives nestled in the piles of rock. The Detonator's only defense is its detonation attack, which has a small, but powerful blast, but it also takes away one honeycomb piece each time you use it. You cannot use this attack when you only have one honeycomb piece left or else you will die.

28. In Mayahem Temple, Mumbo can call upon the Golden Goliath with his magic. What is the name of this spell?

From Quiz Mumbo Magic of "Banjo-Tooie"

Answer: Summon

The Glowbo closest to Mumbo's Mayahem Temple residence is on the ground floor of his hut. The Golden Goliath is used to open the two doors with the skulls on them, and to grab the Jiggy across the swamp in Jade Snake Grove.

29. How many Magical Beans are there?

From Quiz Cloud Cuckooland

Answer: 2

After grabbing the beans (which can be found under the dirt near the beginning of the level) and placing them in the two holes in which they go, Mumbo can use his magic to make them grow into bean stalks which Banjo can climb up.
