Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time Trivia Questions

1. Ratchet ventures through the Molonoth Fields in search of the Lombax rebel on which planet?

From Quiz
9 for 10 - 'Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time'

Answer: Torren IV

To reach Alister Azimuth, the Lombax rebel, at his base on Torren IV, Ratchet has to pass through the Hollow, a sanctuary-cum-factory for Vullards, a race of junk-collecting creatures who, on this occasion, have a problem with rogue battery bots. Ratchet rounds up these bots and returns them to their receptacles to restore power to the conveyor system and exit out the other side of the Hollow. Upon finding Azimuth, Ratchet comes under attack from the old Lombax, who believes Ratchet to be an assassin using a Lombax hologuise as a disguise.

2. Where in the Breegus System would you find ... The Hollow?

From Quiz Where In The Breegus System Would You Find...?

Answer: Molonoth Fields, Torren IV

The Hollow is run by Vullards, a strange scavenger race. Inside, Ratchet must restore power to various items of machinery by reattaching battery bots to power points. On the other side of the Hollow is Volgram Pass, where Alister Azimuth lives.

3. What is Clank's real name?

From Quiz Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time

Answer: XJ-0461

Clank went missing at the end of 'Tools of Destruction' and was taken to the Great Clock by the Zoni. Orvus, the leader of the Zoni and Clank's father always referred to Clank as XJ-0461.

4. After Ratchet and Captain Qwark crash land on the planet Quantos, Ratchet helps one of the local Fongoids locate her three missing children. What is the name of this Fongoid mother?

From Quiz 9 for 10 - 'Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time'

Answer: Enessa

Until Ratchet and Qwark (but mainly Ratchet) locate Enessa's missing children in the surrounding areas, they are unable to gain entry to the Fongoid village to find a way off the planet. Two of Enessa's children are threatened by Zyphoids, and one is stuck in an area affected by strange time fluctuations. When the family is reunited, she allows the duo entry to her village by asking Chief Alpheus to let them all in. It's only then that her name is revealed, when Alpheus wonders why she and her children are outside the village walls. Alpheus then shows Ratchet and Qwark to the Temple of Zahn, where Ratchet collects an ancient artefact that can capture Zoni.

5. Where does The Smuggler give you the RYNO V?

From Quiz Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time: Weapons

Answer: Axiom City

First, you have to find all of the parts for the RYNO V Blueprint. Then, the Smuggler will build it and give it to you in Axiom City.

6. Where in the Breegus System would you find ... The Temple of Zahn?

From Quiz Where In The Breegus System Would You Find...?

Answer: Zolar Forest, Quantos

After making their way through the Zolar Forest, defeating Zyphoids and rescuing Fongoid children, Ratchet and Qwark arrive at the Fongoid village, where an elder leads them to the Temple of Zahn. Inside is a Zoni vessel, which is capable of containing the Zoni and harnessing their bioenergy.

7. What is the name of the staff that Clank wields throughout the Great Clock?

From Quiz Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time

Answer: Chronoscepter

The Chronoscepter was a powerful scepter that could manipulate time. Clank could use it to fight enemies, fix time across the universe and fix broken equipment with a single swing.

8. When Ratchet is in his ship, he can choose one of four radio stations to listen to. Which character from the previous two 'Ratchet and Clank' games can be heard hosting on the Pirate Radio station?

From Quiz 9 for 10 - 'Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time'

Answer: Rusty Pete

With his co-host Captain Romulus Slag, Rusty Pete runs the Pirate Radio station, which primarily plays rock music. The other radio stations include Deep Space Jams (which features smooth jazz and upbeat big band music), House of Synth (for those with a taste for electronic/house music) and Polaris Classical (which, as the name suggests, plays classical music). The radio stations play licensed music, with the exception of Polaris Classical, which plays music composed by Boris Salchow, who also scored the rest of the game, taking over from David Bergeaud who had scored all previous entries from the very first 'Ratchet & Clank' right up to 'Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty'.

9. Which weapon was created by the Fongoids?

From Quiz Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time: Weapons

Answer: Spiral of Doom

The Spiral of Doom preview video mentions that it is created by the Fongoids. This weapon fires out a spiral of energy that acts like a stronger, far-ranged version of Ratchet's wrench because it has the boomerang effect.

10. Where in the Breegus System would you find ... the Vogal Caves?

From Quiz Where In The Breegus System Would You Find...?

Answer: Lumos

In the search for the Obsidian Eye, Ratchet and Azimuth head to planet Lumos. After defeating the Agorians, a Vullard allows them access to the Vogal Caves, and gives Ratchet the Omnisoaker, a device capable of absorbing various liquids and firing them as projectiles. By distracting Tetramites with Breegus nectar and inflating Hydroplants with water, the duo find the Obsidian Eye.

11. Where in the Breegus System would you find ... the Valkyrie Citadel?

From Quiz Where In The Breegus System Would You Find...?

Answer: Vapedia

Vapedia is the home planet of the Valkyries, a race of female warriors who seek to destroy Ratchet. Nefarious enlists the help of three particular Valkyries (Cassiopeia, Carina and Libra) who try to defeat Ratchet in space combat. Ultimately, Ratchet prevails.

12. What does Mr Zurkon turn into at V5?

From Quiz Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time

Answer: Zurkon the Destroyer

Mr Zurkon is a robotic bodyguard that shoots enemies with a laser on his arm. When he levels up to V5, he turns into Zurkon the Destroyer who lasts a lot longer than the ordinary Mr Zurkon, he shoots much faster and shoots powerful shots every now and then. Mr Zurkon is useful for shooting smaller enemies while you are trying to take out the big ones.

13. Who is the Lombax rebel, found at the Molonoth Fields?

From Quiz 9 for 10 - 'Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time'

Answer: Alister Azimuth

Once friends with Ratchet's father, Kaden, Alister Azimuth, a former member of the Lombax Praetorian Guard, initially proves hostile towards Ratchet, leading him along a perilous grindrail course. Upon seeing Ratchet's resemblance to his father and realising the truth, Azimuth proves to be a valuable ally, helping Ratchet on his journey to find Clank and the Great Clock. However, Azimuth's true desire to use the Great Clock to rewind time and save the Lombaxes from the Cragmite menace sees Ratchet and Clank fighting to prevent him from misusing the Great Clock. As Orvus always said, the Great Clock must not be used to change time, only to keep it. Despite this, though, Clank is able to utilise the clock and go back in time by six minutes to save Ratchet from dying at the hands of a power-hungry General Azimuth.

14. What does Clank use as a weapon?

From Quiz Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time: Weapons

Answer: A Chronoscepter

Since Clank isn't with Ratchet until the end of the game, he wouldn't be able to use Ratchet's wrench. I put screwdriver and banana as options because in the beginning of the game Sigmund thinks Clank is using a screwdriver as a weapon and replaces it with a banana. So the only option left it the Chronoscepter.

15. Where in the Breegus System would you find ... Oil Derrick Kappa?

From Quiz Where In The Breegus System Would You Find...?

Answer: Tombli Outpost, Zanifar

When arriving at the Tombli Outpost in the present, Ratchet must gain access to Oil Derrick Kappa to retrieve oil to gain access to the main building itself. To do this, he must travel into the past and plant vine seeds, then go back to the present and ride them across to the derrick to retrieve the oil. The bolt crank for the bridge in the past is rusted, so Ratchet must bring back the oil from the present to fix the crank to gain access to the building. Sounds confusing? It isn't really.

16. Ratchet visits Torren IV in search for Alister Azimuth. When Ratchet finds him, what does Alister do?

From Quiz Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time

Answer: He tries to kill Ratchet

Alister Azimuth is another Lombax and was friends with Ratchets dad, Kaden. When Alister sees Ratchet, he throws a bomb at him and tries to escape. He continues to throw bombs at Ratchet, thinking he is an assassin in a Lombax Holo-guise. When Ratchet catches up with him, Alister pins him up against a wall; then realises that he is the son of his best friend.

17. What does Captain Qwark use as a weapon?

From Quiz Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time: Weapons

Answer: A blaster

If he used the RYNO, You would take him everywhere. The Tesla Claw is only in the first "Ratchet and Clank" game. There are no Combusters in "Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time". They never name the weapons that other characters use, but Qwark uses his green blaster that is also found in his Holo-Vid Comic in "Ratchet and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal."

18. Where in the Breegus System would you find ... the Agorian Battleplex?

From Quiz Where In The Breegus System Would You Find...?

Answer: Korthos Sector

The Agorian Battleplex sees yet another return of arena combat, though noticeably more difficult than previous times. Two championships await Ratchet, each with its own set of challenges. Championship I is available first, and Ratchet must complete the Bronze, Silver and Gold Cups to free Qwark from the Agorians. Later, Championship II is unlocked, and Ratchet faces the difficult Raritanium Cup in the hopes of winning a special weapon from GrummelNet.

19. Who is the only boss fought by Clank?

From Quiz Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time

Answer: The Hypersonic Brainwave Scrambler

The Hypersonic Brainwave Scrambler is a machine that Nefarious used to attack the Zoni. While the HBS is attacking the zoni, it destroys all the lights and the room blackens. When the back up lights power up, Nefarious realises that Clank is missing.

20. What weapon does Alister Azimuth use in the Final Boss fight?

From Quiz Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time: Weapons

Answer: His own wrench

There are no turrets in the Orvus Chamber which is where you battle Azimuth. He could've used his space ship, but he didn't. And I put Cryomine Glove as an option because Lombaxes created it. But Azimuth still didn't use it. So, out of all weapons, he used his wrench he used throughout other parts in the game.

21. Where in the Breegus System would you find ... the Orientation Room?

From Quiz Where In The Breegus System Would You Find...?

Answer: The Great Clock, Sector Three

After fighting through Teratropes, solving time puzzles and restoring temporal normality on various planets by fixing time errors, Clank arrives at the Orientation Room in the third sector of the Great Clock, where a projection of Orvus explains just what Clank has to do as Senior Caretaker. After this, Clank and Sigmund head onwards to the Orvus Chamber.

22. What is Sigmund's real name?

From Quiz Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time

Answer: Sigma 0426A

Sigmund is the junior caretaker at the Great Clock. He used to be a cleaner bot on planet Viceron until he was picked by Orvis to be a caretaker of the Great Clock.

23. Which Vullard-designed gadget of Ratchet's can manipulate Breegus nectar, oil and water?

From Quiz 9 for 10 - 'Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time'

Answer: OmniSoaker

Functioning in much the same way that the Hydrodisplacer did in 'Ratchet & Clank', the OmniSoaker is able to absorb quantities of fluid from conduits and deposit it elsewhere, in order for Ratchet to advance through an area. Oil soaked up by the OmniSoaker can remove rust from objects, while water can revitalise certain plants and Breegus nectar can lure and distract the ravenous Tetramites that inhabit the subterranean cave systems of the Breegus system. This gadget is given to Ratchet by a Vullard on the planet Lumos, as he and Azimuth search for the Obsidian Eye.

24. Where in the Breegus System would you find ... the Erundai Outpost?

From Quiz Where In The Breegus System Would You Find...?

Answer: Gimlick Valley, Morklon

When Ratchet and Clank get flung from Nefarious' space station attached to an asteroid, they end up on Planet Morklon, at the Gimlick Valley. The valley is a swamp-like area (not unlike Oozla from the Bogon Galaxy) with the remains of a village strewn about. After stepping through a time portal and saving the Fongoid tribe from the Agorians, Ratchet and Clank acquire a spaceship and travel back to the space station to confront Nefarious.

25. Ratchet dies in a cutscene towards the end of the game. Who kills him?

From Quiz Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time

Answer: Alister Azimuth

Alister is shocked that Ratchet doesn't want to save the Lombaxes and as Ratchet is walking away, Alister zaps him with his wrench. Ratchet stumbles around and finally fall backwards off the Great Clock. Clank races Alister to the Orvus Chamber and goes back in time 6 minutes to before Ratchet gets hit and Clank pushes him out of the way.

26. Where do Ratchet and Clank rendezvous with Qwark (who is pretending to be a nurse called Shannon) and take control of the Hypernova Defence Laser?

From Quiz 9 for 10 - 'Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time'

Answer: Nefarious Space Station

During their first visit to the station, Ratchet and Clank are captured by Nefarious, attached to the Asteroid Flinger 5000 and flung across space, eventually crash-landing on the planet Morklon. Later, when they return to the space station, Ratchet and Clank fight their way through Nefarious' guards to find Qwark masquerading as Nurse Shannon. The trio then break into the station itself (with a scene reminiscent of a certain 'Star Wars' film), sabotage the Hypernova Defence Laser system and ultimately defeat Nefarious before the station is destroyed.

27. Where in the Breegus System would you find ... Pollyx Industries?

From Quiz Where In The Breegus System Would You Find...?

Answer: Axiom City, Terachnos

Voted "Weakest Planet in the Galaxy" four thousand years straight, Terachnos is home to the Terachnoids - a race of strange crab/spider-like creatures with enormous intellect. When Ratchet visits Axiom City with Alister, they break into Pollyx Industries and later destroy the VX-99, a huge machine capable of levelling the entire city.

28. Who is the last boss in the game?

From Quiz Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time

Answer: Alister Azimuth

Dr. Nefarious is fought in his space station. After you defeat Nefarious, Ratchet and Alister travel to the Great Clock. Because Ratchet doesn't want to save the Lombaxes, Alister races to the Orvus Chamber to save them by himself. Ratchet fights Alister to stop him from destroying the universe.

29. How much do the Buzz Blades cost without the "Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destructions" discount?

From Quiz Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time: Weapons

Answer: 48,000 bolts

You get a discount if you have "Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction" save on your PS3. The discount makes the Buzz Blades cost 25,000 bolts. This means you get to buy it early.

30. Where in the Breegus System would you find ... The Great Clock?

From Quiz Where In The Breegus System Would You Find...?

Answer: The centre of the universe ... give or take fifty feet

"The Clock, much like time itself, is a gift and not to be tampered with." When the Fongoids misused the gift of time travel, the whole of existence was almost destroyed. Orvus subsequently constructed the Great Clock, which would repair the damage and restore temporal normality. Over and over he says that the Clock is only used to keep time, not to alter it.
