The name "America" was acquired well before the original 13 colonies became a country. It is named after Amerigo Vespucci, who was an Italian explorer. After Christopher Columbus' journey in 1492, Vespucci came up with a new theory that the lands Columbus discovered were actually a continent and not part of eastern Asia. In parts of Africa, through the centuries, humans were eaten as a means of medical remedy or to protect against certain magics. Native Americans practiced this technique as part of their religious ceremonies and various events, such as the stranding of the Donner Party, in the spread of colonization in America also led to people eating others in their group.

The first ballpoint pen was created and sold in the 1940s. Just prior to this time, people were using fountain pens that contained ink cartridges that flowed ink to the nib where the pen deposited it on paper and the ink slowly dried. These fountain pens had taken the place of quills and ink where the quill was dipped into the ink and utilized. By 1945, the ballpoint pen had been invented by a Hungarian named Biro and companies soon patented their own version.

This type of writing instrument uses a small, rotating ball at its tip that dispenses quick-drying ink as it is moving across a surface. Marcel Bic bought the rights to the original pen from Biro and the rest, as they say, is history.

Integers are in a category of numbers that includes positive and negative whole numbers. Zero counts as an integer but any decimal or fraction does not. A good example is if you had a jar of marbles. Suits that have been settled include types such as divorce, wrongful death, fraud, false advertisement, sexual harassment, class action lawsuit.

Lederhosen became popular in Europe in the early 1700s when the Bavarians took traditional leather shorts and put a drop-down flap in the front. Goat or sheep skin was used by the lower classes of society while nobility favored the tan deer skin that is still commonly used today.

The invention of denim jeans by Levi Strauss in the 1870s put an end to lederhosen as everyday clothes. This unique clothing can still be seen throughout Germany in modern times at traditional festivals and events like Oktoberfest.
