Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Saw sash Pete's ha

Answer: sausage pizza

The sausage in question is usually Italian sausage, not the kind some people eat for breakfast. Although...hmmm... Sausage and scrambled egg pizza, anyone?
2. Much Romans awe sedge

Answer: Mushroom and sausage

Well, OK, this would work for breakfast too, I suppose - cold, with orange juice, of course.
3. Grin pay Pa ran Don yon

Answer: green pepper and onion

This is the standard form. I've also had a variation with roasted red peppers in lieu of the green, which is very nice.
4. Fetch jeep eats saw

Answer: Veggie Pizza

For the non-carnivores among us. And it makes a nice change for the meat eaters too.
5. She cargoes tile

Answer: Chicago style

Though Chicagoans do eat thin crust pizza, what the world knows as Chicago style is deep dish, baked in a special, 1 /2 in. deep, round pan. This leaves room for the tomato sauce, abundant cheese and other various scrumptious toppings, which are layered upside down with the cheese on the bottom and the tomato sauce on the top. Now, that's my kind of pizza!
6. How why yen pits huh

Answer: Hawaiian pizza

Another regional specialty. What I wanna know is, why isn't there a monument to the genius who first put pineapple on pizza?
7. Ankh show Fe

Answer: Anchovy

Anchovy pizza is one of those subjects, like Pepsi vs. Coke, that divides people into irreconcilable warring camps. You're either an anchovy pizza person or you are not. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to find that the great conflicts of history - the Pelopenesian Wars, the Punic Wars, the Wars of the Roses - grew out of disputes over whether or not to have anchovies on a shared, lunchtime pizza.
8. Eggs trash ease

Answer: extra cheese

Extra cheese, on the other hand, is wholly uncontroversial. Think how much bother could have been saved if the anchovy antagonists had compromised on extra cheese!
9. Soup ream mot

Answer: Supremo

Supremo, Supreme or Deluxe is the pizza with every conceivable topping on it. In your humble quiz maker's opinion it is for neophyte pizza eaters, who haven't the experience or discernment to know what they want.

Editor's note: While Supreme might be a more common name than Supremo, the fracture requires the "o" sound at the end of the word.
10. Pea Peron nippy tsar

Answer: pepperoni pizza

Saving the best for last! And you might say coming full circle, since pepperoni is technically a type of sausage. But then diamond is a form of carbon, like soot or pencil lead (graphite). But there's carbon and carbon. And like the lady said, pepperoni is a girl's best friend.
