Tennis was first invented thousands of years ago by European Monks and has evolved over time into the modern game that is played today.
The first Wimbledon championships were held in 1877, but players didn't receive money as prizes until 1968. The men's singles champion back then won the princely sum of ₤2,000. Now of course, the prize money is significantly higher at just shy of ₤1,000,000.

In 1928 Yoshisuke Aikawa founded the Nippon Industries but the company didn't branch into the motor vehicle industry until 1931 when Aikawa purchased controlling shares in DAT Motors.
