Allan Ludden's career as a game show host included programs like "Liar's Club". Ludden hosted "Liar's Club" from 1977 to 1979. He hosted "Win With the Stars" from 1968 to 1969. Allen Ludden was the original host of the television version of "GE College Bowl" from 1959 to 1962. He left the show to be the host of "Password".

The "Gong Show" (1976-1978) was most remembered with host Chuck Barris from 1976 to 1980. Other hosts were John Barbour, Gary Owens and Don Bleu. Although Allen Ludden appeared as a guest on the show he was never the host.

Betty White was born Betty Marion White on January 17, 1922 in Oak Park, Illinois.

She was previously married to Dick Barker from 1945 to 1945 and then to Lane Allen from 1947 to 1949. She is well known for her role as Rose Nylund in "The Golden Girls" (1985-1992).

Allen Ludden was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 1980. Although he went for chemotherapy treatments he did not go into remission from the disease. While vacationing in October, 1980 he fell into a coma which was caused by high levels of calcium. These high levels of calcium were a result of his cancer medication.

Although he seemed to have recovered from that, a few months later his cancer grew worse and he died on June 9, 1981. He was buried in the Ellsworth family plot located in the Graceland Cemetery in Mineral Point Wisconsin.

This was his hometown.
