He was only 48, when he died. Moe was born Moses Horwitz on June 19th, 1897, and passed away on May 4th, 1975, at the age of 77. Shemp was born Samuel Horwitz on March 17th, 1895, and passed away on November 23rd, 1955, after suffering a heart attack in the back of a taxi cab, at the age of 60.
