Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I starred in "Gaslight" (1944), "Anastasia" (1956), "Murder on the Orient Express" (1974) and "Joan of Arc" (1948). Who am I?

Answer: Ingrid Bergman

A Swedish beauty best known as Ilsa in "Casablanca" (1942), Ingrid played a housewife driven insane by her husband in "Gaslight"; a long-lost Russian princess in "Anastasia"; a passenger on the train in "Murder on the Orient Express" and of course, Joan of Arc. Bergman has three Oscars to her credit, winning best actress twice ("Gaslight" and "Anastasia") and best supporting actress once ("Murder on the Orient Express").
2. I starred in "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (1938), "The Charge of the Light Brigade" (1936), "To Each His Own" (1946) and "The Heiress" (1949). Who am I?

Answer: Olivia de Havilland

Although she did not win an Oscar for her performance, Olivia is best known for playing Melanie Hamilton in "Gone with the Wind" (1939). She did however win best actress Oscars for her work in both "The Heiress" (1949) and "To Each His Own" (1946).
3. I starred in "High Noon" (1952), "The Country Girl" (1954), "To Catch A Thief" (1955) and "Dial M for Murder" (1954). Who am I?

Answer: Grace Kelly

Long considered one of Alfred Hitchcock's muses, Grace won a best actress Oscar for her role as Georgie in "The County Girl" (1954). Grace went on to marry the Prince of Monaco in April 1956. After her marriage, Princess Grace dropped out of the Hollywood scene and had three children. Tragically, she died fairly young in an auto accident in September 1982.
4. I starred in "Roman Holiday" (1953), "Sabrina" (1954), "Funny Face" (1957) and "Love in the Afternoon" (1957). Who am I?

Answer: Audrey Hepburn

Possibly best known for her roles in both "Breakfast at Tiffanys" (1961) and "My Fair Lady" (1964), Hepburn's only Oscar came for her work in "Roman Holiday". Despite her pixie-like appearance, Hepburn starred alongside most of Hollywood's leading men, from Frank Sinatra to Humphrey Bogart to Gregory Peck.
5. I starred in "National Velvet" (1944), "Little Women" (1949), "Father of the Bride" (1950), and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (1958). Who am I?

Answer: Elizabeth Taylor

The girl with violet eyes began as a child actress who successfully transitioned to adult roles. Taylor won two Oscars, one for "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" (1966) and the other for "Butterfield 8" (1960).
6. I starred in "Julius Caesar" (1953), "A Streetcar Named Desire" (1951), "Guys and Dolls" (1955) and "The Wild One" (1953). Who am I?

Answer: Marlon Brando

Typecast early on as a bad boy or thug, Brando moved on to notable roles winning two Oscars, one for "On the Waterfront" (1954) and the other for his best-known role in "The Godfather" (1972).
7. I starred in "Captain Blood" (1935), "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (1938), "Adventures of Don Juan" (1948) and "Gentlemen Jim" (1942). Who am I?

Answer: Errol Flynn

Not an Oscar winner in any regard, Flynn epitomized Hollywood's dashing leading man with good looks, charm and attitude. He happened to be one of my favorites starring opposite Olivia de Havilland in eight films. The first was "Captain Blood" (1935), and the eighth was "They Died with Their Boots On" (1941).
8. I starred in "Allegheny Uprising" (1939), "Fort Apache" (1948), "The Searchers" (1956), and "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" (1962). Who am I?

Answer: John Wayne

Wayne had several nominations, but only one Oscar win in his role in "True Grit" (1970). Not an especially skilled actor, Wayne relied on his tough guy persona playing the eternal cowboy, soldier or frontiersman roles.
9. I starred in "You Can't Take It with You" (1938), "It's A Wonderful Life" (1946), "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" (1939) and "Vertigo" (1958). Who am I?

Answer: James Stewart

Nominated many times for Oscars, James Stewart (aka Jimmy Stewart) only won one best actor award for his role in "The Philadelphia Story" (1940). His role in "It's A Wonderful Life" is probably one of his best known as it is a beloved Christmas classic.
10. I starred in "The Yearling" (1946), "Roman Holiday" (1953), "The Omen" (1976) and "Moby Dick" (1956). Who am I?

Answer: Gregory Peck

Also a multiple Oscar nominee, Peck won a best actor Oscar for his best known role as Atticus Finch in "To Kill A Mockingbird" (1962).
