1. All of us know and admire Scrooge McDuck, the richest duck in the whole world, but in which story he made his first appearance?

Answer: "Christmas in Bear Mountain"

When Scrooge made his first appearance, he was a moaning and groaning miser. In that story he exclaims "everybody hates me and I hate everybody". The story was first published on December 1947 on "One Shots" #178.
2. A rival of Scrooge is Flintheart Glomgold. In which story did he make his first appearance?

Answer: "The Second Richest Duck"

Glomgold is the second richest duck of the world. He lives in the Limbobo Valley, in South Africa and has some similarities with Scrooge, like keeping his wealth in a money bin and not sparing a dime when it's not necessary. The story was first published on September 1956 in "Uncle Scrooge" #15.
3. Another wealthy rival of Scrooge is John D. Rockerduck. Where did he make his first and, in Barks' stories, last appearance?

Answer: "Boat Buster"

In Barks' story, Rockerduck does not represent a significant threat to Scrooge. He is just a rival in boat gasoline market. The story was first published on December 1961 in "Walt Disney Comics" #255.

In his first appearance, Gladstone tried to claim Donald's house as his own, but fails due to Daisy's foresight. His luck is mentioned here, but does not help him at all. The story was first published on January 1948 in "Walt Disney Comics" #88.

In her first and last appearance regarding Barks' stories, Hazel allies with the nephews in order to get Donald's candies on Halloween. The story was first published on November 1952 in "Donald Duck" #23.

Answer: "Flowers Are Flowers"

Barks never used the character again, making him only a minor member of the original Duck universe. The story was first published on December 1964 in "Uncle Scrooge" #56.
