Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of the first engineer to transform into the legendary Chicken-Man?

Answer: Jack Cooper

Like Dilbert, Jack Cooper had the egg dream, and eventually turned into a chicken-man after he was put in charge of a project for which no one could decide on a name.
2. How many voice-mails marked 'Urgent' were waiting for Dilbert when he got to work?

Answer: 937

After hearing the first message (from Ted, who called to say he'd sent Dilbert some email), our exasperated engineer deleted all of them.
3. Why did the Pointy-Haired Boss decide he needed a new desk?

Answer: Because his drawer was full of toe-nail clippings.

The PHB also made his engineering group wait while he finished trimming his toe-nails.
4. The company's flagship product, a herbal throat lozenge, wiped out an entire town because they were made from what 'herb'?

Answer: Anthrax

But at least the victims' throats were moist and less-raspy when they died.
5. While playing "Scrabble", what work did the Dilmom play to get an immediate 148-point advantage over her son?

Answer: Quixotic

Dogbert exceeded her score with 'Quizzing'. Dilbert had begun the game with the word 'it' (which Dogbert challenged).
6. What name did Dilbert originally pick for the new product?

Answer: Acorn

While Acorn was already owned by a dry cleaning business, Dilbert's exasperation forced him to pick it during the overlong meeting to find the name for the product that hadn't even been designed yet.
7. What shop in the strip mall did Dogbert use to set in motion the violent series of events that destroyed the dry cleaners?

Answer: Vibrating Chairs

The vibrating chairs resonated and destroyed all the halogen lights next door, which ignited All Things Combustible, which in turn set off the Gun Powder Depot, which reduced Acorn Dry Cleaners to ruins.
8. What name was given to the CEO of Dilbert's company as the first choice for the product?

Answer: Salmonella

The team was going to present 'Acorn' to the CEO, until he waxed on about his youth at Turtle Lake in the Catskills, where an incident involving a turtle, his swim trunks and cold water left him with the nickname "Acorn" (which had been adopted by his phony-French parents for their drycleaners).
9. What name was finally given to the new product?

Answer: The Gruntmaster 6000

The name had been originally conceived by the Dilmom, which resulted in a dance of epic proportions on the "Scrabble" table.
10. What does the new product do?

Answer: No one knew at the time.

The Gruntmaster 6000 would eventually be designed as...well, that's a topic for another quiz!
