Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Aardman Animations, known for producing the 'Wallace and Gromit' series, made which of these stop-motion animated films in 2000?

Answer: Chicken Run

The first film in the Aardman collection (preceding "Flushed Away" and a small handful of "Wallace and Gromit" feature films), "Chicken Run" was the highest-grossing stop-motion animated film to date and one of the longest to get created (it took a week of animation to complete one minute of filming).

In the film, a group of chickens fought to escape their farm before they could be slaughtered for food.
2. Seth Green was one of the men behind what animated comedy show featuring short, often absurd vignettes airing on Adult Swim?

Answer: Robot Chicken

Although the opening sequence of the show almost always featured a chicken being transformed into a Frankenstein-like creation, the show usually unfolded in a random manner, flipping between stop-motion sketches of all lengths and genres. Beginning airing in 2005, the show was led by Seth Green who not only produced, directed, and wrote several sketches, but voice acted in the majority along with a few regulars and frequently rotating guest stars.
3. Originally played on accordion, "The Chicken Dance" is a song that originated in festivities in what nation?

Answer: Germany

Originally known as the 'Little Birdie Dance', "The Chicken Dance" was more of a drinking staple than a beloved wedding reception standard and children's classic. Allegedly created for Oktoberfest in Germany, the accordion tune was composed by a Swiss musician as 'Der Ententanz'.

The song has since become somewhat of a novelty hit covered by many musicians and bands over the years, sometimes appearing on international music charts (somehow) and becoming synonymous with the less technical side of line dancing.
4. On which TV show did main characters come into possession of 'a chick and a duck'?

Answer: Friends

First appearing in the 1997 episode "The One with a Chick and a Duck" from the show's third season, the Chick and the Duck became recurring animal roles in the show as they were adopted by Joey and Chandler to save them from being killed. The animals grew throughout the seasons with the chick inevitably becoming a mature rooster and crowing in the fourth season.

This ended up spurring a battle during which Rachel and Monica had to swap apartments with the guys for a brief spell. Over time, the birds stopped appearing in the show.
5. The Gadgetron Morph-o-ray has the power to transform victims into chickens in what video game series?

Answer: Ratchet & Clank

One of the zanier weapons in this series loaded to the brim with guns of all sorts, the Morph-o-ray first appeared in the first game in the series on the PlayStation 2. One of the last weapons to get in the game, it could not be bought-- only found. Later games would introduced the Qwack-O-Ray, to transform foes into ducks, and the Sheepinator, which transformed them into sheep...who would then explode.

The Pork Bomb Gun also appeared in the PSP game "Secret Agent Clank", transforming enemies into pigs.
6. The Chicken Cannon was a recurring feature on what Canadian-made sketch comedy show?

Answer: Royal Canadian Air Farce

Although "Royal Canadian Air Farce" began as a radio show featuring comedic impressions, it went to television in the 1990s and became a popular CBC comedy fixture, showing for a number of seasons and then restricting itself to a once-a-year special airing on New Years Eve. One of the many recurring sketches on the show was the Chicken Cannon, a high-powered weapon that was loaded with a random assortment of items and (usually) a rubber chicken and fired directly at a topical target onstage, usually by Don Ferguson's Colonel "Teresa" Stacy.
7. The surreal cartoon "Cow and Chicken" featured anthropomorphic animals. The chicken was just known as 'Chicken'.

Answer: True

And the cow was just known as 'Cow'. Weirdly, the show featured a cow and a chicken who, somehow, were born to human parents. Much of the show involved their antics though vignettes in between featured the characters Weasel and I. R. Baboon. Made for the Cartoon Network, "Cow and Chicken" was part of a series of late 1990s cartoons known for being made for kids but featuring distinctly adult humour throughout.

It was nominated for two Emmy Awards during its short lifespan. Voice actor Charlie Adler voiced both Cow and Chicken.
8. A fixture in the "Legend of Zelda" video game series, what chicken-like creature will fight back if attacked?

Answer: Cucco

Cuccos are somewhat innocuous in most of the "Legend of Zelda" games, but there's a risk to be had if Link attacks them since they will often gang up with other Cuccos for revenge, chipping away at Link's health unless he can hide himself away somewhere. That said, in some games, Cuccos can prove useful.

Their ability to glide (or at least flap their wings feverishly) can allow him to reach locations that would otherwise be unreachable across large gaps.
9. He wears a disguise to look like human guys, but he's not a man, he's what six-foot-tall character from TV's "Animaniacs"?

Answer: Chicken Boo

Chicken Boo, one of the many recurring shorts from the Warner Bros. "Animaniacs" TV show, featured a six-foot-tall chicken who donned disguises in every appearance and attempted to blend in with people in odd scenarios despite, for all intents and purposes, being a chicken with no ability to speak or perform regular tasks.

At the end of the episode, a key piece of his costume would fall off for some reason and he would be chased off to the horizon, exposed for the bird he really was. He was popular enough to warrant his own theme tune played at the beginning and end of his vignettes.
10. "Caw! Ca-caw! Ca-caw! Ca-caw!" Does no one in the Bluth Family know what a chicken sounds like? On what show does it seem that no one can emulate a chicken properly?

Answer: Arrested Development

The Chicken Dance on "Arrested Development" is a recurring joke in which one or multiple members of the Bluth family attempt to call someone a chicken and then enact their own impression of a chicken, often making noises or motions that make no sense for the insult.

It was started by Gob, but over the course of the series there were different variants made by Lindsay, George Sr., and Lucille. In later seasons, it appears that Michael, Tobias, and George Michael have their own sounds as well, but they're often cut short.
