Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many of the Vachon family were actually professional wrestlers?

Answer: 4

Maurice (Mad Dog) and Paul (Butcher) were the originals. Later, Maurice's daughter Dianne (Vivian) and Paul's daughter Angell (Luna) became wrestlers as well.
It is understandable if you put 5, because Midwest legend Stan Pulaski wrestled from time to time as a tag partner (and brother) to Butcher. His name, of course, was 'Stan Vachon'.
2. Which of these 'families' are actually related?

Answer: The Villanos

The Villanos are all the sons of Mexican wrestling star, Ray Mendoza.
The Valiants are actually - "Handsome Jimmy" - John Valens, "Luscious Johnny" - Tom Sullivan, and "Gentleman Jerry" - John Hill.
The Andersons are - "Gene Anderson" - Eugene Anderson, "Lars Anderson" - Lawrence Heinemi, "Ole Anderson" - Al Rogowski, and "Arn Anderson" - Marty Lunde. Oh, and they also had a 'cousin' for a little while in the mid 70s - his name was Ric Flair!
The Dudleys, it's fair to say, were never seriously considered as 'brothers'.
3. Is Larry Zbyszko related to Stan and Wladek Zbyszko?

Answer: No

Larry Whistler began wrestling under his real name in 1973, and later took the 'Zbyssko' name, I guess to add some credibility.
Larry is, however, linked to another wrestling family. His former father-in-law and brother-in-law were Verne and Greg Gagne (which may explain why he became a two-time AWA World Heavyweight champion!).
4. Johnny and Greg Valentine (John Wisniski and John Wisniski Jr) were two of the greatest wrestlers of all time. However, when Greg was young, which 'family' did he become a member of?

Answer: Fargo

Greg Valentine (John Fargo) teamed with Don Fargo (Don Kalt) and won the NWF Tag titles before moving to Los Angeles to wrestle under his more famous moniker.
5. Which of these was actually Dr. Bill Miller's brother?

Answer: Danny

Dr. Bill Miller was one of the alltime greats. His brother Danny wasn't far behind him in ability.
'Gentleman Jerry' Miller was a midcarder who was based in the Midwest.
Ron Miller was a legendary Australian wrestler, and Ernest 'The Cat' Miller was a former Karate champ.
6. How many of the legendary Von Erich family who wrestled were actually related?

Answer: 9

The Von Erich patriarch was Fritz Von Erich (Jack Adkissen). His sons Kevin, David, Kerry, Mike and Chris all became pro wrestlers, with varying degrees of success. In later years, Kevin's sons Ross and Marshall also wrestled as a team with some success, and Kerry's daughter Lacey also donned the tights for a brief period of time. You could be forgiven for putting 11, because Fritz's 'brother' when he was young was Waldo Von Erich (Walter Sieber), who was possibly the most convincing 'German' wrestler of alltime! And in the 80s, a 'cousin', Lance, (Kevin Vaughn), was introduced into WCCW (Fritz's promotion) but didn't last long.
7. The Grahams were considered the prototype 'family' team. Dr. Jerry, Eddie, Crazy Luke and Superstar Billy were, as the Kangaroos' slogan went, "often imitated, but never duplicated". Which was the only 'Graham' not to have a son that became a pro wrestler?

Answer: Superstar Billy Graham

Jerry Graham (Jerry Matthews) had two sons who wrestled professionally - Jack and Mike. Eddie (Ed Gossett) was dad to Mike Graham, and Crazy Luke (Grady Johnson) had a son who wrestled as, appropriately, "Crazy Luke Graham Jr.".
There was a wrestler in the 80s who wrestled as 'Jerry Graham Jr.', but he was no relation.
8. Steve Wright was a successful British wrestler in the 70s and 80s. His son, Alex, was billed as being from Germany during his time in WCW, both as 'Das Wunderkind' and as 'Berlin'. Why was this?

Answer: Alex had a successful career in Europe and was living in Germany when Alex was born.

Alex Wright was actually an outstanding talent in his own (w)right, but was laboured with bad gimmicks because of his father's career.
9. Which of these was not a 'cousin'?

Answer: Moose Morowski

Dick the Bruiser (Richard Afflis) and Crusher Lisowski (Reginald Lisowski) were cousins, and became one of the greatest tag teams of all time. In the early 70s, the AWA introduced 'Bad Boy' Frank Shields, who wrestled briefly as 'Bull Bullinski', billed as a cousin of Bruiser and Crusher.
Moose Morowski was actually former jobber Mike Monroe, who, as Moose, became a big name in Texas and Australia.
10. There was a wrestler who, for a time, wrestled as Hulk Hogan's brother. What was his most well known persona?

Answer: Brutus Beefcake

Brutus Beefcake (Ed Leslie) was Hulk's best friend. He started wrestling in 1978, and has wrestled as Dizzy Hogan, Ed Boulder etc etc.
Horace Hogan wrestled in WCW and is legitimately Hulk's nephew. Sterling Golden was one of Hulk's previous identities, and Jimmy Golden was from another famous wrestling family.
