Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Bread blitz bone?

Answer: Fred Flintstone

"Yabba-Dabba-Doo!" Fred Flintstone is of course from the cartoon entitled "The Flintstones," that was a Hanna-Barbera cartoon production that ran from 1960-1966. It's about the stone-age lifestyle of Fred and Wilma Flintstone and their neighbors/best friends, Barney and Betty Rubble. Fred and Wilma have a daughter named Pebbles, and Barney and Betty have a son they adopted named Bamm-Bamm. Most memorable and funny things about "The Flintstones" for me would have to be their foot-powered cars, and Fred's acquired 'Twinkle Toes' nickname that was given to him due to his funny toe-approach styled walk he would use during his game play of bowling.

This cartoon was made into a funny movie in 1994, and starred John Goodman as Fred, Elizabeth Perkins as Wilma, Ricky Moranis as Barney, and comedienne Rosie O'Donnell as Betty.
2. Papaya?

Answer: Popeye

"He's Popeye the sailor man, toot-toot!" Eating his spinach always proved out great strength for Popeye, in which he needed often to fight off the ever-tenacious Bluto who was always trying to steal away Popeye's love interest, Olive Oyl. Popeye aired from 1956-1963 and was a creation made by E.C. Segar.

It, too, was another cartoon that was made into a movie back in 1980 of which starred the funny Robin Williams as Popeye himself, Shelley Duvall as Olive Oyl, and Paul L. Smith as Bluto. I personally think it's a really great movie of which I still love to watch every now and then for it's rather quite comical I think.
3. Starry clown?

Answer: Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown is one of my favorite characters from the "Peanuts" gang, a cartoon comic strip created by Charles Schulz. "Peanuts" first debuted in seven newspapers on October 2, 1950. The comic was a major success and Schulz continued its creation until he announced his retirement on January 3, 2000 (when he also stated that his family wished for the strip to not be continued by anyone else) of which was also the same year of the comic strip's 50th commemoration. Schulz sadly died very shortly after on February 12, 2000 at 77 years of age.

The next day, on February 13th, the final Sunday "Peanuts" newspaper strip appeared. The comic strip has been made into many specials and feature length films over the many years of its existence. One such special is that of "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving," which debuted on November 20, 1973 and was a winner of an Emmy Award.

Other specials and favorites include such ones as "A Charlie Brown Christmas," "It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown," "Be my Valentine, Charlie Brown," "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," and "Happy New Year, Charlie Brown." Info courtesy of www.snoopy.com
4. Phat ow burg?

Answer: Fat Albert

Fat Albert originates from the "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids" cartoon which was created by none other than Bill Cosby himself. He was also the show's live-action host in addition to providing the voices for many of the characters from the show, of which included Fat Albert (of course), The Brown Hornet, Leroy, and Mushmouth.

The show started back in 1969 and was a cartoon dedicated to teaching positive social values to children. The show earned and received itself an Emmy Award nomination in 1974.

In 1979, the show was renamed to "The New Fat Albert Show" of which aired until August of 1984. An excellent cartoon, in my opinion, of which I enjoyed very much, and of which I consider to be a memorable favorite of mine as well.
5. Skew bee due?

Answer: Scooby Doo

Scooby Doo was a cartoon Great Dane breed of dog of which was a Hanna-Barbera cartoon production that first premiered in 1969. Scooby and his human friends-Shaggy, Velma, Fred, and Daphne-were always on the great mystery hunt of ghostly beings and happenings. Scooby Doo, however, was completely petrified of such ghostly apparitions of which, in turn, provided for some of the greatest comedy of the show. Scooby and the gang could also be remembered for always being seen driving around in their "Mystery Machine" van.
6. Alp hen?

Answer: Alvin

Alvin is a chipmunk from the cartoon series of "Alvin and the Chipmunks" that aired from 1983-1991. Alvin and his two chipmunk brothers, Simon and Theodore, were adopted by and live with Dave Seville. Alvin is the trouble maker of the trio, and Dave is known for often having to shout out Alvin's name in digust or anger for Alvin's such troublesome antics. I've loved "Alvin and the Chipmunks" for as long as I can remember, and I still very much enjoy watching and listening to their Christmas-time movies and music each Christmas holiday.

Some of my Christmas favorites by them on CD include "Merry Christmas From Alvin and the Chipmunks," and "Christmas with the Chipmunks, Vol.1." My Christmas movie favorites with the chipmunks are for one "Alvin and the Chipmunks: A Chipmunk Christmas," and the other of "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Alvin's Christmas Carol."
7. Hoagie bare?

Answer: Yogi Bear

Another cartoon creation by the Hanna-Barbera duo, "Yogi Bear" was a long lasting cartoon that ran for a total of 30 years, from 1958-1988. Most will probably remember Yogi's sidekick, Boo-Boo. They were the bear duo who were constantly wreaking havoc for Ranger John Smith at Jellystone National Park.
8. Popcorn lei warn?

Answer: Foghorn Leghorn

Foghorn Leghorn is a Looney Tunes character who first appeared in "Walky Talky Hawky" in 1946, of which was an academy award nominee. He's a rooster with a southern style accent who loves to play pranks on Henery Hawk (the chicken hawk character of whom the cartoon was originally created to base its focus on) and his sidekick, the barnyard dog (whose intended job was to protect the barnyard animals from such predators as Henery Hawk). Foghorn Leghorn may also be remembered for singing along to his favorite tune of "Camptown Races" with its famous line of "Doo dah, doo dah!"
9. Stupe he?

Answer: Snoopy

Snoopy is yet another favorite character of mine that originates from the "Peanuts" newspaper comic strip (#3 above). Snoopy is Charlie Brown's Beagle dog who is able to perform quite a many human-type tasks. One example of this would be that of the simple fact that Snoopy walks on two legs instead of four.

Interestingly, though, I gather that Snoopy apparently at one time did in fact walk like a normal dog on all four legs, for on www.snoopy.com, it states that on January 5, 1956, Snoopy first walked on two legs.
10. Baby the few?

Answer: Pepe Le Pew

Pepe Le Pew is another Looney Tunes character who is a romantic at heart, but with the vastest of egos. He may be most remembered for his charming French accent. His only flaw would be that of his "perfume" decor, for um...Pepe is, in reality, a skunk who thinks of himself as a cat. And so, Pepe is, therefore, always chasing after such female felines whom have discolored black fur with white stripes down their backs. Poor Pepe...for he's such a hopeless romantic that he doesn't even realize the females are always trying to escape his advances due to the unbearable stench of his uninviting aroma. Thanks yet again for playing along, and I do hope you liked it and had some fun. :)
