Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In one of the episodes from the 1967-68 Spider-Man cartoon, a villain tried to steal enough gold to make a golden statue of himself. Who was the villain?

Answer: Rhino

Rhino appeared in 3 episodes, 'Horn Of The Rhino', 'The Golden Rhino', and 'Rhino'.
2. In 1995, a compilation of cartoon themes called 'Saturday Morning Cartoons' was released. Which rock band recorded the 'Spider-Man' theme from the 1960's series?

Answer: The Ramones

Joey Ramone was a comic book fan. The Ramones included this song in their concerts from then on.
3. In the late 70's, there was a live action 'Spider-Man' TV show, although there was not much action and no super villains. Who played Spider-Man in this series?

Answer: Nicholas Hammond

It was cool to see Spidey on TV, but the show never captured what made Spider-Man so great: the real life problems and the gallery of villains.
4. Also in the 1970's, a children's show featured a Spider-Man segment, in which Spidey spoke in comic bubbles. What show was it?

Answer: The Electric Company

This coupling also inspired the Marvel-Electric Company comic Spidey Super Stories.
5. What was the name of the 1975 rock album featuring Spider-Man?

Answer: Rock Reflections Of A Superhero

It featured songs like 'Doctor Octopus', 'Gwendolyn', 'No One's Got A Crush On Peter', 'High Wire', and 'Square Boy'.
6. In the 1970's, Power Records released several comic book-record combos, some of which featured Spider-Man. One of these books, a condensed version of Amazing Spider-Man 124 and 125, was called 'Mark Of...'?

Answer: The Man-Wolf

They also featured combos in which Spidey fought Draco, King of the Dragon Men, and The Conquistadors, not derived from the Spidey comics.
7. During the late 70's, Remco made an 'Energized Spider-Man' action figure. Which villain was also 'energized'?

Answer: Green Goblin

I never actually owned one, but always wanted one, thanks to those commercials and comic ads! Spidey had a Copter. They also energized the Hulk.
8. In the 1981-82 season of 'Spider-Man And his Amazing Friends', an episode called 'Seven Little Super Heroes' was featured, with guest heroes Captain America, Sub-Mariner, and Shanna. Who was the villain?

Answer: Chameleon

Luckily, Ms. Lyon was the 'eighth little super-hero'. The dog could tell that the Chameleon was in disguise, and Spidey and his friends defeated him, in this 'Ten Little Indians' copy.
9. In 1983-84, the Spider-Man cartoon was teamed with which other Marvel cartoon?

Answer: The Incredible Hulk

First they teamed old 'Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends' with the Hulk, Then, old Hulk's with new Spider-Man's.
10. What was the name of the second season of 'Spider-Man, the Animated Series', on FOX, featuring 'The Insidious Six', 'Mutant Agenda', and 'Tablet Of Time'?

Answer: Neogenic Nightmare

Great cartoon! This season included 'Enter The Punisher' and 'Duel Of The Hunters', which I feel are the best of the series. The only problem with the show was that they tried to squeeze 30 years of Spider-Man history into 5 years of cartoons. They could have had a hit cartoon for 10 to 15 years if they had stuck to the origional stories.

It included Ed Asner, Efram Zimbalist Jr., Mark Hamill, Hank Azaria, Martin Landau, Rue McClannahan, and Nell Carter.
11. In the 2000 Spider-Man video game for Playstation, who is the second last villain Spider-Man fights, after Doctor Octopus?

Answer: Carnage

The last villain is Monster Ock. The Carnage symbiote bonds with Doc Ock to create a truly powerful villain, and a very tense chase!
12. Who played Peter Parker in the 2002 movie 'Spider-Man'?

Answer: Tobey Maguire

I thought 'Pleasantville' was OK, but didn't like 'Wonder Boys' at all. I never saw 'Cider House Rules'.
13. In 1999, the 'Spider-Man Unlimited' cartoon began on Fox, in which Spider-Man follows John Jameson, Venom and Carnage to Counter-Earth, which is run by whom?

Answer: The High Evolutionary

I never developed much interest in this series, as I thought the previous 'Spider-Man, the Animated Series' was much better.
14. In the 1970's, which company made a series of action figues with rubber heads, including figures from Star Trek, Planet Of The Apes, Kiss, Charlie's Angels, Happy Days, D.C., and Marvel?

Answer: Mego

The figures were basically all the same with different heads and costumes. They were mainly advertised in comics. Spider-Man's inclusions were himself, Green Goblin and Lizard. I wish I had had enough money back then to buy them all.
15. Which Florida theme park has a 'Spider-Man' ride featuring Doctor Octopus?

Answer: Islands Of Adventure

A part of Universal Studios. If anyone's been there, please let me know how it is.
