Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Terry Funk is a Texas native. He was wrestling long before most people on this site have been born. Which city in Texas was he born in?

Answer: Amarillo

He was born in Amarillo, Texas. He started his career in 1965, wrestling alongside his brother Dory. Terry Funk helped make people famous such as Mick Foley. They wrestled a brutal match at the "King of the Death Match" tournament in Japan. They had an exploding ring, barb wire and ladders. If you look at Funk's arms after the match you can see the burn marks.

His first retirement came in 1983, but whenever a booking came a long, he had no other choice but to give in and wrestle. He has wrestled for WWE, WCW, and ECW.
2. Ivan Putski was born in 1941 in Poland. He had a strong run in the early years in the World Wrestling Federation. What was his nickname?

Answer: Polish Power

His finishing move was the Polish Hammer, which was a strong double axe handle to the chest. He teamed with WWE Hall of Famer, Tito Santana, back in the very early 1980s. His son, Scott Putski, had a small run in 1998. He had a feud with Brian Christopher. Ivan made his return to television and tagged with his son to take on Christopher and Jerry Lawler who are also father and son. Scott wasn't as successful as his father since he hurt his leg in the ring while wrestling Christopher.
3. One Man Gang has been wrestling since the 1980s as well. He also wrestled under a different persona other than One Man Gang in the WWF. What was his name?

Answer: Akeem

One Man Gang wrestled as Akeem in late 1988 to mid 1990. He formed a tag team with his partner Big Boss Man. Since that time he's wrestled for ECW and WCW, as well. He has wrestled many hardcore fights with men such as Sabu and Bam Bam Bigelow.
4. Ultimate Warrior is a popular name in wrestling. He main evented the sixth "Wrestlemania" against Hulk Hogan. What date was this held on?

Answer: April 1, 1990

It was on the first of April. He defeated Hulk Hogan for his first ever Heavyweight Title run. He lost it to Sgt. Slaughter in January of 1991. His first ever title to hold was the Intercontinental title which he held when he beat Hulk Hogan. He defeated the Honky Tonk Man in less than a minute to win the Intercontinental Belt.

He never held the Tag Team title. Warrior has had major feuds and exciting matches with Macho Man, Randy Savage. He also beat Andre the Giant on a few occasions in only a few mintues.
5. Eddie Guerrero started wrestling at the age of 19. When he debuted in World Wrestling Entertainment, he came along with three other people. Which one of these guys was NOT with him?

Answer: Raven

He had many problems in his life. He was in a car accident that almost took his life. It was after that incident that he decided to change his life. With the blessing of Vince McMahon he was sent to a rehabilitation clinic. Since he knew he had a problem Vince paid for the rehab. He won his first Heavyweight title ever at "No Way Out" 2004 against Brock Lesnar.
6. Bam Bam Bigelow has also been wrestling for years. He wrestled in the late 1980s at first for Vince McMahon. He went on in the late 1990s to Extreme Championship Wrestling to become Televison Champion. Who beat him for that belt in 1998 with the assist from Sabu?

Answer: Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam defeated him and held the belt for close to 2 years. Bam Bam became popular in the mid 1990s as a part of Million Dollar Man's Corporation. He frequently tagged with fellow Corporate member Tatanka. Bam Bam wrestled his first "Wrestlemania" main event match against Lawrence Taylor. An incident that happened shows his true human spirit.

There was a house fire in 2001 with kids inside who couldn't get out. He broke down the door and rescued them. The kids were treated for smoke inhalation but weren't severly harmed. Luckily, Bam Bam only received third degree burns and was able to return to the ring after this incident.
7. Sid Vicious has wrestled all over the world and has made a name for himself. He wrestled for all major companies that were around in the 1990s. He broke his leg during a 2001 match against whom?

Answer: Scott Steiner

He attempted a leg drop and his leg got broken. It was one of the most insane looking injuries I have ever seen. Sid is a former WWE Heavyweight champion. He has wrestled under different names; such as Sid Vicous, Sid Justice and Psycho Sid. He had an altercation with Arn Anderson at a hotel and he received four puncture wounds while Arn Anderson received over 30 stab wounds from scissors. Sid made his return to the independent scene in 2004.
8. Who did Hall of Famer, Tito Santana defeat, to win his first Intercontinental title?

Answer: Don Muraco

Tito defeated another Hall of Famer, Don Muraco. Muraco held the nickname The Rock before Rocky "The Rock" Maivia was even wrestling. Tito held every title except the Heavyweight title. He did challenge for the title in the early 1980s but was unsuccessful.

He didn't need the Heavyweight title to rise to stardom. In 2004 Vince McMahon had Tito and Muraco inducted in to the WWE Hall Of Fame.
9. Koko B. Ware wrestled mainly in the 1980s for Vince McMahon. Did Koko ever hold any of the titles in World Wrestling Entertainment?

Answer: No

Koko B. Ware was used mainly as an ally for Hulk Hogan. Koko was known for his pet bird, Frankie. Every time he would go to the ring, Frankie would be there as well. Frankie tragically died in a house fire in 2003. Koko was not in the house at the time the fire broke out. Neighbors tried to help but the fire was too big. So Frankie was obviously known to fans just as much as Koko was.

In all seriousness he will be missed as a legendary mascot.
10. Sting made a name for himself in World Championship Wrestling. Who did he wrestle on the last edition of "Nitro"?

Answer: Ric Flair

Sting has had many feuds with other legends such as Flair, Hulk Hogan, Vader, and Mick Foley. When WCW was taken over by the New World Order, an imposter Sting, made it look like the real Sting had turned on the company. So Sting decided to be a loner.

He changed his hair and makeup to a sort of "Crow" look. He became a member of the Wolfpac version of the New World Order and changed his look again. Sting is now a born again Christian.
