1. Before changing his name to Luke Cage, what was Cage's name?

Answer: Carl Lucas

Cage changed his name after being convicted of a crime he did not commit. He felt he needed a change after being incarcerated. Cage was set up by his friend and fellow gang member Willis Stryker, who planted an amount of heroin in Cage's abode. These events happened in the first issue of "Luke Cage: Hero For Hire" in 1972.
2. Who was the first supervillain that Cage battled?

Answer: Diamondback

Diamondback was actually Cage's old friend Willis Stryker, by now an agent for the Maggia crime organization. Diamondback used many trick knives, but was killed by his own exploding knife, which he had intended to use on Cage. Diamondback died in the second issue of "Luke Cage: Hero For Hire", debuting in 1972.
3. What is Luke Cage's catchphrase?

Answer: "Sweet Christmas!"

Cage used this catchphrase frequently during his own series and sometimes also during his tenure as Iron Fist's partner. Cage's solo title became "Power Man and Iron Fist" with #48. The series began featuring both heroes in 1977.
4. Cage came up with his famous catchphrase because someone close to him despised the use of profanity. Who was it?

Answer: Cage's grandmother

In the 1990's series "Heroes for Hire", Luke Cage explains that his grandmother hated swearing, so he came up with "Sweet Christmas!" instead. Cage also noted that his grandmother was tougher than some of the villains he had fought.
5. Cage also starred in the 1992 series "Cage". Where was it set?

Answer: Chicago

Blamed for the murder of Iron Fist at the end of his series "Power Man and Iron Fist" and subsequently cleared of charges, Cage nonetheless moves to Chicago and intentionally loses touch with the superhero community. He stops using the alias "Power Man" and instead works as a hero for hire.
6. During his tenure in Chicago, Cage works closely with a detective. What is her name?

Answer: Dakota North

Dakota North first appeared in the first issue of "Dakota North", debuting in 1986. She has no superpowers, but is adept with a firearm and a good hand-to-hand fighter. One of her most famous clients was the law firm of Nelson and Murdock.
7. During the series "Cage", Luke Cage's strength was increased even more.

Answer: True

In "Cage" #6, set in 1993, Cage is again exposed to the same type of experiment that gave him his original powers. This augments his strength and extremely durable skin.
8. During the 1997 "Heroes For Hire" series, whom did Cage have a romantic relationship with?

Answer: She-Hulk

She-Hulk is actually Jennifer Walters, a superhero with green skin, super strength, super speed, a healing factor, and an excellent record as a lawyer. She had her own series from 1979 to 1982, and has been a member for Heroes for Hire, the Avengers, and the Fantastic Four, where she filled in for the Thing.
9. Which other superpowered human does Cage marry?

Answer: Jessica Jones

Jones first appeared in the first issue of "Alias", in 2001. She has used more than one moniker during her brief career as a superhero, but retired from that life after a traumatic experience involving the controlling Purple Man. She married Luke Cage in "New Avengers Annual" #1, set in 2006.
10. Luke Cage supports the Super-Human Registration Act.

Answer: False

Cage is one of the most vocal opponents of the Act, comparing it to Jim Crow laws and joining the Secret Avengers. After the capitulation of Captain America's forces, Cage goes underground with a group of heroes and continues to defy registration. These events happened in the 2006 miniseries "Civil War".
