As well, Assistant Editors' Month was a real gimmick used by Marvel back in the early 1980s. All the issues were supposed to be a bit sillier, to highlight the wacky and unreliable antics of Marvel's Assistant Editors. Unfortunately, it was revealed years later that it was a lie, and the normal Editors had edited it as usual.

The X-Men had previously freed Xorn from an underground prison in "New X-Men" Annual 2001. Xorn's mutant power emerged at puberty, when a microscopic star formed in his head, destroying his head and giving him a wide range of powers. At least, that's what the X-Men thought.

Igor Kordey penciled and ink four issues, despite already penciling and inking another monthly title and a miniseries.
