Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What superhero does Garfield pretend to become when he dons his blanket?

Answer: The Caped Avenger

Whenever Garfield dons his cape, he becomes the Caped Avenger and sets out to fight evils, though his attempts to help others are often foiled by his own cape. Garfield often has multiple aliases including Count Cat and the short-lived Banana Man. Although Garfield has his recurring role as the Caped Avenger, the role only appeared once on the TV show "Garfield and Friends" in an episode entitled "Caped Avenger". Garfield has also given Pooky his trusty cape on some occasions.
2. Chronologically, what book is "Garfield World Wide"?

Answer: His fifteenth

Released in 1988, ten years after he was first introduced to the world, "Garfield World Wide" hit the shelves. Following this, it only took eight more years until book #30, "Garfield Bigger and Better" was released. In North America, all of these were first released in black and white paperbacks, but in 2000, Paws Inc. began releasing larger, full-colour books starting with book #37 "Garfield Beefs Up".

They also began releasing the classic Garfield books in this format, starting with #1 and working their way up.
3. What is the name of Jon's brother?

Answer: Doc Boy

Jon's younger brother is simply referred to as Doc Boy in the comics although his real name isn't known. Doc Boy lives with Jon's parents on the family farm, and like his father, he's balding. Often, he and his brother like to make fun of each other, and they both have the same, dull ideas. They often find entertainment in boring things like washing machines and barnyards.
4. To which destination does Garfield frequently send Nermal?

Answer: Abu Dhabi

When Nermal gets on Garfield's nerves, he usually ends up getting rid of Nermal one way or another. One of these is by wrapping Nermal up in a package and sending him to Abu Dhabi, and others include throwing him through the front door and tossing him over fences. Tierra Del Fuego is also familiar to Garfield strips. It's the location that Garfield sends his annoying alarm clocks to.
5. Which company developed the 1995/1996 Garfield video game, "Garfield: Caught in the Act?

Answer: Sega

In the game, Garfield and Odie accidentally break the TV and Garfield manages to try and put it back together. When he turns it on, he's magically sucked into the television set where he has to fight through different channels to escape. The game was released on the Sega Genesis and the Sega Game Gear in 1995, and on the PC in 1996. Each version of the game contained a different amount of levels; some of which aren't in the other versions. Each game featured many characters from the Garfield comics, and many items seen throughout the strips such as coffee cups (Java) and Pooky, Garfield's teddy bear.

In 2005, "Garfield: The Search for Pooky" was released on the Game Boy Advance.
6. Who voiced Garfield on the TV show "Garfield and Friends"?

Answer: Lorenzo Music

Lorenzo Music voiced Garfield throughout the 366 episodes of "Garfield and Friends" and more than twelve different TV specials featuring Garfield throughout the eighties and nineties. Music also voiced characters in "The Real Ghostbusters", "TaleSpin", and "Darkwing Duck" before they ended. Lorenzo Music passed away in 2001 due to lung and bone cancer.

In "Garfield: The Movie" and "Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties", Garfield was voiced by Bill Murray who played Peter Venkman original "Ghostbusters" movie. Music played this role in "The Real Ghostbusters".
7. What is the name of the waitress that Jon and Garfield always talk to at the local diner?

Answer: Irma

Whenever Jon and Garfield head to the greasy, local diner, they happen to run into the owner and sole waitress of Irma's restaurant. Usually, she serves up gross dishes (like mashed potatoes in a cone), and occasionally she'll have the chef cook up a wild animal for the guys. On occasion, she may lose an eyelash in her food or bring the guys the wrong order, but Jon and Garfield keep coming back.
8. In "Garfield's Feline Fantasies", what is Garfield's alter ego?

Answer: Lance Sterling

"Garfield's Feline Fantasies", produced in 1990, was nominated for an Emmy award along with "Garfield's Thanksgiving", but both specials were defeated by the year's newcomer "The Simpsons". In "Garfield's Feline Fantasies", Garfield and Odie used their imaginations and delved deep into an adventure to save the precious Banana of Bombay. Garfield (Lance Sterling) and Odie (Slobber Job), had to save this symbol of humour from both 'friends' and enemies in this special.
9. How many seasons of the animated show "Garfield and Friends" were aired?

Answer: Seven

Beginning in 1988, "Garfield and Friends" spent seven years entertaining CBS' viewers on Saturday mornings. Although each episode was originally aired as hour-long shows, they were broken into half-hour episodes for syndication. Not only could viewers watch Garfield, but also the cast of "U.S. Acres", Jim Davis' other strip.

In North America, all of the one hundred and twenty-one "Garfield and Friends" episodes were released in five DVD sets.
10. Which Garfield TV special did not appear in the collection entitled "Garfield as Himself"?

Answer: Garfield in the Rough

The collection featured Garfield's first special, his first Emmy Award winner, and the slightly less-popular "Garfield Gets a Life". This was released along with three other DVDs each containing three more Garfield TV specials. All of the Garfield TV specials can also be purchased in full-colour paperback books much like the Garfield book collection.
