Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When 'Wrestlemania' made its debut, what did Vince McMahon say that the event would be like?

Answer: The Superbowl

In an interview conducted by 'WrestleWire' in 1998, Vince stated that the main premise for coming up with 'Wrestlemania' was to bring wrestling to the next level. He compared the event to the Superbowl, where anything goes. He said he only intended for it to be a one time deal, but when he saw how much the fans and wrestlers enjoyed it, he couldn't think of not having another 'Wrestlemania'.
2. In an interview conducted in 1999 by Jim Ross, Gerald Brisco, a former wrestler turned promoter, said that he had his doubts about the first 'Wrestlemania'. What did he say was the main reason that he thought 'Wrestlemania' could not possibly be done?

Answer: It wouldn't work with the event being live from one arena, and dispensed via closed circuit television

In the interview, Brisco said that he was not very impressed with the idea of having the event held in one location only, and then being shown via closed circuit television at other locations chosen by the World Wrestling Federation. He wholeheartedly believed no one would by tickets to view it from the other locations, via television. I guess that Vince McMahon proved it could be done!
