As singles competitors, Kofi Kingston has held the United States Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, and the Tag Team Championship with different competitors, and Big E held the Intercontinental Championship one time. Xavier Woods has had yet to hold a singles title in his WWE career.

The New Day's biggest rivalry throughout 2017 and into 2018 was with The Usos, where they would capture the Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship two times from them, but each one showed a lot of respect for the other throughout and even formed sort of an alliance when the Bludgeon Brothers started interfering in their storyline.

The unicorn was used as a part of their gimmick due to Xavier Woods's love for the cartoon "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic". They would also take shots at their name, the animal they represent, and whether their camaraderie was genuine or not.

The Shield simply told Stephanie they wanted to fight The New Day at "Survivor Series" and they got it. The Shield won after such a grueling match.
