Question 1 of 10
1. Who said: "Yes, our people have been persecuted and exterminated. The truth is we've barely begun to even comprehend, let alone recover from genocide on an unprecedented scale. Sixteen million of our people died in Genosha. That's sixteen million possible cures for cancer or AIDS gone. Sixteen million potential Shakespeares, Einsteins, Kurt Cobains, lost forever...But right here, at the Xavier Institute, we have twelve-year-old autistic savants who can talk to atoms in their own language. Here, we still believe in the future." Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. How about this one: "I'm Jewish. I'm also a woman, an American and a Cubs fan. All of which make me a minority and an object of hatred somewhere in the world. But this is college. Here, none of that's supposed to matter! Except for that bit about the Cubs." Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. Who advised Laura Kinney, "Stop reacting, X. Start thinking. Move with the right purpose. Before you make things worse." Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Who said: "I am a Diamond, Ms. Pryde. I am by definition, my own best friend." Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. Who said: "Can you see me, Mommy? What I am...all I've done?! Forgive me--for the lives, the hope I lost, the promise I betrayed." Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. Who said: "I'm a creature of the wild. I hate cities... hate civilization with all its idiot rules. Gimme the free, open, elemental spaces of my mountains where a man holds his fate in his own hands. No lies there. No deception, no compromise. So why, I wonder, do I love this land, this city? It's probably the most structured on Earth, laced tight with centuries of tradition and ritual, covering every conceivable aspect of public and private life. I was born to one world. But I choose to be part of the other." Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. Who sent the following e-mail:
To: snikt1@xaviers.com
From: nekochan@jmail.com

Hey, Logan-

I'm here in Tokyo. Made it in one piece. It's been awhile since I've been back and it's a little weird, to be honest. The memories are hard to keep down. I wish you were here but I understand you wanting to sit this one out having just gotten back. If I get the time, I'll try to head down to Kyoto to see Amiko and this Mana woman.

Anyway, I came here to find a dragon and now I find myself mixed up with ninja. Long story, I'll explain later. . .Given your "history" with The Hand, I was wondering if you ever heard of a splinter group called the Path of Destiny? Seems they've got the green dragon now. Any info would help. Thanks!

I'm gonna give Yukio a call, too. Maybe she knows something.

Love ya,
--------

Question 8 of 10
8. Who said: "Congratulations, you of the mutated muttonchops! You're the first person on the planet to perpetrate a peek at this most perfect of panaceas! After countless uncountable aimless attempts at eradicating the heretofore ineradicable-we've done it! The late Dr. MacTaggert and I have done it!" Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. Who asked Wolverine: "Tell me again, Wolvie. Exactly what are we doing here? I know there's a mall out there somewhere that could use at least one more teenager doing nothing inside it." Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. Okay, here's a twist on the type of questions we've been doing. Jubilee said, "Remy...WHAT THE BEEJOOBIES HAVE YOU GOTTEN US INTO?!WE'RE ALL GONNA DIEJUSCAUSEYOUANMAGNETOHADSOMEPROBLEMSINTHEPASTYOUGOTTAGOANDDOWHATEVERHESAYS!" Now you tell me, in which major crossover storyline did she say this?

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Here, we still believe in the future."

Answer: Jean Grey/Phoenix

Jean made this sobering statement at a press conference after the decimation on Genosha in 'New X-Men' #123, which was published in 2002.
2. How about this one: "I'm Jewish. I'm also a woman, an American and a Cubs fan. All of which make me a minority and an object of hatred somewhere in the world. But this is college. Here, none of that's supposed to matter! Except for that bit about the Cubs."

Answer: Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat

Characteristically standing up for her rights and the rights of others, Kitty beratingly tells a member of Purity---an anti-mutant group--- this in 'Mekanix' #4 (2003).
3. Who advised Laura Kinney, "Stop reacting, X. Start thinking. Move with the right purpose. Before you make things worse."

Answer: James 'Logan' Howlett/Wolverine

Soon after moving to Xavier's, Laura was helping the X-Men rescue people from a huge, multi-car accident near the mansion. One of the victims, upon seeing that Laura was a mutant, declared that she must have been responsible for the accident and punched her. Wolverine stepped in just in time with the aforementioned piece of advice before Laura eviscerated the boy.

This issue ('X-Men' #165, 2005) was one of the X-Men Christmas stories.
4. Who said: "I am a Diamond, Ms. Pryde. I am by definition, my own best friend."

Answer: Emma Frost/White Queen

Emma uses this line to rebuff Kitty, who was just trying to be friendly in 'Astonishing X-Men' #23 (2008).
5. Who said: "Can you see me, Mommy? What I am...all I've done?! Forgive me--for the lives, the hope I lost, the promise I betrayed."

Answer: Rachel Summers/Phoenix

The Summers family saga has always been one of the most convoluted in comic book history. Considering the fact that there are clones, people from alternate time-lines, space pirates, and even aliens who have a place on the Summers family tree, the simplest domestic conversation can be more confusing than finding your way through a dense jungle. Rachel spoke the above line while standing at Jean's grave in St. Stephen Cemetery in 'Uncanny X-Men' #199 (1985).
But I choose to be part of the other."

Answer: James 'Logan' Howlett/Wolverine

Wolverine's character has come a long way from the 5' 3" clawed berserker introduced for the sole purpose of providing the Hulk with a novel battle. Since the early eighties, his story has been inextricably wound around Japan and its peoples. He married a Japanese woman, whom he had a son with, and has a Japanese foster daughter, Amiko.

He's trained as a samurai and lived as a ronin. It's interesting that the land he's so clearly given his heart to is so different from his own feral nature. The quote is from 'Kitty Pryde and Wolverine' #3 (1985).
7. Who sent the following e-mail: To: snikt1@xaviers.com From: nekochan@jmail.com Hey, Logan- I'm here in Tokyo. Made it in one piece. Answer: Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat

This is from 'X-Men: Shadowcat - Shadow and Flame' #1 (2005). Kitty received a mysterious letter from Japan containing a picture of the green dragon that had once before attacked Tokyo and a note ordering her to Japan at once. Once there, she is embroiled in a messy situation involving ninjas, samurai, and of course, dragons.

The e-mail she sent soon after arriving, when she learned that a sect of the Hand was involved in the proceedings.
8. Who said: "Congratulations, you of the mutated muttonchops! You're the first person on the planet to perpetrate a peek at this most perfect of panaceas! After countless uncountable aimless attempts at eradicating the heretofore ineradicable-we've done it! The late Dr. MacTaggert and I have done it!"

Answer: Hank McCoy/Beast

In this issue ('Uncanny X-Men' #390, 2001)Hank McCoy was ecstatic because after working around the clock for months, he had finally discovered a cure for the Legacy Virus, the deadly disease released by Stryfe Chaos-Bringer that had become an epidemic among mutants the world over.
9. Who asked Wolverine: "Tell me again, Wolvie. Exactly what are we doing here? I know there's a mall out there somewhere that could use at least one more teenager doing nothing inside it."

Answer: Jubilee Lee

Jubilee made this quip while on a mission for Nick Fury to retrieve a piece of the Cosmic Cube from under the Mandarin's nose ('Marvel Team-Up' #19, 2006). Needless to say, Wolverine didn't appreciate the humor.

Answer: Age of Apocalypse

Age of Apocalypse, a nineties crossover, began when Legion, the son of Charles Xavier, went back in time to kill Magneto. Unfortunately this, like nearly everything else Legion did, failed. In fact, it failed spectacularly. Instead of killing Magneto, he killed Xavier.

However, since had traveled back before he himself was born, he couldn't have killed his father because then he (Legion) would never have been born to kill Xavier. Thus, the entire universe was thrown out of whack and entered a frightening world in which Charles Xavier never lived long enough to impact human/mutant relations.

As as result of him not lobbying for equal status for super-humans, the Fantastic Four was never founded. Since they were never founded, the other superheroes never became superheroes either, giving Apocalypse a prime opportunity to conquer the world, which he did in short order. Under his tyrannic rule, humans were barely worthy of living, and life wasn't very good for mutants either.

The only hope were the X-Men, an underground resistance led by Magneto.
