Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the episode "Invention Intervention" after a series of things going wrong including a massive explosion, Rico being electrocuted, and worst of all dinner being ruined, Skipper bans Kowalski from all further inventing. How does Kowalski respond to this order?

Answer: He sneaks off to build a really impressive invention.

Kowalski just can't wait to show Skipper that the coolness of his new invention is worth an occasional explosion or two. However, we can hardly blame Skipper. Sure they can take being blasted up against a wall, after all the Penguins are a tough outfit. Rico being electrocuted doesn't seem to bother Skipper much at all.

But the sight of those two fish burnt to almost nothing was just too much.
2. In "Invention Intervention", to test his efforts, Kowalski drives his invention out into Central Park. What happens there?

Answer: Fred the squirrel accidentally fires the invisibility beam.

To test the invention Kowalski makes Fred's tree invisible. Fred falls out of the tree and accidentally causes the invisibility gun to shoot into the city where the beam is reflected back to the machine making it invisible. Actually, Fred takes his tree becoming invisible pretty well. Fred never gets too upset about anything.

It is really not his fault he accidentally fired the invisibility beam, after all he is just a squirrel.
3. Kowalski brings his invisibility device back to the zoo. There things go horribly wrong. What happens?

Answer: King Julian sees Kowalski with his invention and can't help but join the fun. His antics result in the machine going crazy and charging off into the city.

Julian is being his usual annoying self and has to be the center of anything interesting. In a short time after seeing Kowalski he is in Kowalski's lap pounding away an the invisible control panel. This makes the machine go crazy. It charges out into the city, shooting off invisibility beams, zapping things right and left.
4. Things are clearly out of control in the city with buildings and other things becoming invisible. Skipper rallies the Penguins and they go off to fix things. Skipper is sure he knows who is to blame. Who does Skipper think is behind the trouble?

Answer: His nemesis, the evil dolphin, Dr. Blowhole.

Kowalski doesn't think this is the best time to correct Skipper. They are working together to try to stop his invention and that is the important thing, well at least more important that getting the blame for all the trouble.
5. The Penguins manage to temporarily stop the machine in "Invention Intervention" and Kowalski disarms it, saving the day. Does Kowalski ever fess up to who is behind the problem?

Answer: No

Kowalski does try several times. He really wants Skipper to know that he, not Dr. Blowhole, was the genius behind the invisibility gun. But Skipper keeps interrupting his confession and, in the end, Kowalski just gives up.
6. The episode "Launchtime" is about another Kowalski invention. Skipper decided the Penguins needed a change of scene and he decided they should visit the Moon. Kowalski quickly whips up a rocket ship. During the launch, what is the excitable Rico's response?

Answer: He falls asleep.

We could image any number of things Rico might have done. However, as a good joke we see the normally excitable Rico so relaxed he falls asleep even as the rocket blasts off.
7. As with many of Kowalski's inventions their rocket trip to the Moon doesn't go just like he planned. Where do they actually land?

Answer: They land on the roof of a building just beyond the park.

They spend some time exploring this strange new place. They are met by what they think is a Moon cat. He is actually just a poor starving feral cat who is very bad at catching birds. The four penguins are big, juicy, flightless birds and look great to him. In the end they give him some fish and make a very happy new friend as they fly back to the zoo.
8. In yet another adventure shown in the episode "It's About Time", Kowalski invents a time machine. Once again this brilliant invention has a few problems. How do we find out something is wrong?

Answer: Kowalski comes back in time from the future to warn Private that the machine is dangerous.

The Kowalski from the future tells Private to stop the present Kowalski from making the time machine because if he completes it the machine will cause a rip in space and destroy the entire universe. The pressure is really on Private. Worst of all, future Kowalski can't just go explain it to present Kowalski because the having two Kowalskis at the same time would cause the rip in space to form.
9. The story of the episode "It's About Time" gets even more complicated. What is the next twist in the story?

Answer: A second future Kowalski comes back in time to tell Skipper to prevent Private from preventing present Kowalski from completing the time machine.

The second future Kowalski figured out that if the time machine was not completed then the first future Kowalski couldn't come back to warn them not to build the time machine. I told you it got more complicated.
10. Despite their best efforts the rip in space is opened in the episode "It's About Time". It is only a matter of time before the whole universe is destroyed. Who saves the day?

Answer: Rico. He tosses the time machine into the rip and it seals up.

Kowalski says, "That shouldn't have worked." It is a hard thing for him to accept that science failed him but Rico's muscle-over-mind approach worked.
