Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which sets are the false teeth that are worn by Arno Blunt?

Answer: Filed Porcelain; Blue Oil and Water in Perspex Casing

Blunt also has a set that "is all flat. For crushing stuff." The blue oil and water set is vital because it was what Sid Commons, the officer in the Heathrow Airport, used to identify Arno Blunt who was put in custody and later confronted by Butler. The filed porcelain is the set that Blunt wore to meet Artemis Fowl when he first arrived in Chicago.

This set is known to click when Blunt talked. (pg. 173)
2. Where did Juliet Butler take her field simulation test with Madame Ko as the final step in her bodyguard training?

Answer: Sfax, Tunisia

This location could have been recalled if you remembered the Tunisian vendor trying sell the Tunisian rugs to Juliet. In this examination, Juliet failed to acheive the Blue Diamond tattoo on terms that her tactics were unreliable. This later lead Juliet to believe that bodyguarding was too strict for her so she switched to boxing, using the ring name Jade Princess.
3. Specifically where is the O'Hare International Airport located?

Answer: Chicago, United States

"Spiro...wore a fur-collared greatcoat over his trademark white suit. Halogen lamps blasted the tarmac, and the down-draught from the chopper blades snagged his coattails. It was all very cinematic." (pg. 173) This is when Mulch puts on the tough act and Artemis, the weak, terrified act.

Then Spiro, Blunt, Artemis, and Mulch all helicopter to the Spiro Needle. This question a giveaway for those who knew the answer before they even read the book.
4. How long was the textbook healing time for a severed finger?

Answer: 4 Minutes

The finger was needed to unlock the gel fingerprint security lock on the vault door. Unexpectedly, this finger was actualy Spiro's cousin Costa's. The fingerprint pad was set to accept Costa's fingerprint for one night to see how far Artemis could get. The finger was returned unharmed back to Costa's hand without a single trace of it ever being removed.
5. The three room (in the multiple choice) are all on different levels. What was the order of these rooms from the lowest level to the highest level (from level 84 to 86)?

Answer: Artemis' cell, then the vault, then Spiro's bedroom

For the first few times that I have read the Eternity Code, I was quite confused because it had said that Spiro's bedroom was directly above Artemis' cell. It took me a while to realize that this meant the bedroom area was correspondent to the cell area and did not mean that Spiro's bedroom was literally on top of the cell.

The strategical placement of these three rooms was probably that each level up was more important than the last. So Jon Spiro believed his private area to be most important and then his possessions in the vault and then his captive in the cell.
6. Carla Frazetti, goddaughter of Spatz Antonelli, with manicured nails and a jet black suit, was a very intelligent, trimmed business woman. Uniquely, she had a jewel inset in one of her incisors. What was that jewel?

Answer: a small Ruby

This ruby showed when Carla Frazetti smiled. "Carla Frazetti was goddaughter to Spatz Antonelli...Carla operated as liaison between Jon Spiro and Antonelli" (pg. 107) She appeared to be comfortable in any environment as she had no problem in clean conference rooms, tattoo parlors, and insect-rich dumps.
7. Loafers McGuire was apparently very fond of shrewd, snappy comebacks and imagery. What did he use as an analogy of his headache upon waking up in his relocated position?

Answer: a prickly porcupine inside his head

This relocated position was west of Wajir, Kenya. "Loafers sat up and the porcupine went crazy, jamming needles into every square inch of his soft brain tissue." (pg. 150) Loafers, now known as Nuru, has been accepted into the Kenyan clan, living in an old missionary's hut, never again to interfere with the genius world-saving plans of Artemis Fowl. Never again to write down so-called snappy dialogue.
8. A customs and immigration stamp was painted on Pex and Chip to identify them as the mesmerized set of guards when Holly and Artemis were sneaking into the vault. When viewed through an infrared filter, the stamp would glow a certain color. What was this color?

Answer: orange

Had they not been stamped, it would have almost been impossible to tell them apart from the other bodyguards as they all had "small heads, no necks" as Holly had so eloquently stated. Pex and Chips were mesmerized to not to see anyone out of the ordinary so they could not see Artemis and Holly running down the corridor.

They were contrasting the value of Captain Hook and Barney. (pg. 242)
9. Once in the Spiro Needle, Mulch Diggums and Juliet Butler had to get to the cables in the back of the room's security camera to wind a video clip around them which would give Foaly control of the CCTV network. Mulch Diggums used his special talent of passing wind to spin the camera on its axis so that the camera would not spot them while they were getting to the cables. What did Mulch call this particular passing wind technique?

Answer: launching a torpedo

Juliet and Mulch could not hide behind the cam foil because Foaly said the camera had better eyes than people and would make them look like a pair of figures behind a projection screen. So Mulch employed the noiseless pressured air he had at his dispense, to move the camera. Juliet had to participate as well. Mulch had to concentrate on aiming so Juliet had to pinch Mulch's little toes which activated the burst of air.
10. After the successful mission of retrieving the C Cube, the mind wipe was to follow. To escape the mesmer which would have revealed Artemis' only memory recalling lifeline, Artemis designed contact lenses with a mirrored layer to deflect the eye contact and disable the mesmer. This design plan was taken to one of Butler's associate, who was located in which city, to be made?

Answer: Limerick, Ireland

All of the choices exist. The contact lenses served its purpose as Artemis had successfully avoided the mesmer. After the mind wipe, Artemis, Butler, and Juliet woke up to find these contact lenses in their eyes. As their minds had been wiped, they had no memory of how the lenses got there. I am wondering why Foaly did not see the existence of these contact lenses in Artemis, Butler, and Juliet's memories when he did the mind wipes on them.
